  • After seeing the wild monkeys in Jigokudani, Nagano Prefecture, I want to take a dip in a hot spring. Can you recommend a hotel?

I want to see wild Japanese macaques bathing in hot springs, so I'm going to Wild snow monkey park in Nagano Prefecture. I'm planning to stay one night in Nagano, but I'll be using public transportation such as trains and buses, so I'd like to know some recommended hot spring inns around Yudanaka Station. I'd like to stay around Yudanaka Onsen or Shibu Onsen.

  • Enjoy a stroll through the retro streets where you can experience the atmosphere of a Japanese hot spring resort

  • It takes about 40 minutes by train to get to Wild snow monkey park where the monkeys are. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from Ryokan (Japanese inn) to Yudanaka Station, but it's only a 4-minute taxi ride away, so it's not that far. The spacious Yumedono public bath is a natural spring that draws water from Jigokudani. You can also enjoy a stroll through the retro townscape nearby.

  • It's also convenient to go to the Monkey Park. It's within walking distance from Yudanaka Station.
