• This hotel, which is about a 20-minute drive from the Shimanto River, is very beautiful both inside and out. The amenities are plentiful, and the hotel staff were very kind. The large public bath is a hot spring, which was very relaxing and helped to soothe my body tired from driving. The food, which was also prepared with an awareness of the four seasons, was so delicious that it was almost a shame to eat it. Also, if you go to the Shimanto River, be sure to take a ride on a houseboat. The view of the Shimanto River from the boat is exceptional.

• I recommend the New Royal Hotel Shimanto, a luxurious hotel in Kochi Prefecture that is large and easy to book. The rooms are spacious and relaxing. We stayed on the upper floors, so the view from the window was great. There was also a large public bath, so we were able to relax in it.

• The inn is located on a hill above the Shimanto River, so it has a great view and the charm of being able to see the entire Shimanto River. I stayed in a special Japanese-style room with a view. I was able to relax on the terrace attached to the room and enjoy the sunset over the Shimanto River. I also had a luxurious time in the open-air bath, where the only sounds I could hear were those of nature. The food was very delicious, with a wide variety of seafood and mountain produce. You can also order Kochi's local dish, Sarabachi cuisine.

• I recommend "Hotel Seira Shimanto". I stayed there on a solo trip in autumn. I stayed in a twin room with a view of the Shimanto River. I was able to enjoy the ever-changing Shimanto River at dusk from my room. There is no open-air bath, but there is a large public bath where you can relax.
