  • Ginzan Onsen - I want to stay at a hot spring inn after skiing! Can you recommend an inn with a nice open-air bath?

This year I'm planning to go skiing in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. I'd like to stay overnight at the nearby Ginzan Onsen, but are there any inns with nice open-air baths? I'd like to warm up my cold body slowly after skiing.

Takimikan

522 Nakayama, Ginzan Shinhata, Obanazawa-shi

  • A hot spring inn surrounded by mountains

  • Located in Ginzan Onsen, Yamagata Prefecture, this inn exudes history and elegance dating back to the Taisho era. Built on high ground, you can enjoy the hot springs in the open-air bath while taking in the beautiful scenery of the mountains in all four seasons. The homemade handmade soba noodles are made using buckwheat flour from the local Obanazawa area, and are a masterpiece that can be enjoyed "freshly ground, freshly made, and freshly boiled." You can also enjoy creative course meals and dishes made with local ingredients, which are sure to soothe your mind and body.

  • This inn has a wonderful open-air bath!

  • "Takimikan, a Waterfall and Buckwheat Inn" has a wonderful open-air bath where you can bathe while watching the waterfall flowing below. For meals, you can taste Yamagata's brand rice "Tsuyahime". You can enjoy a Japanese meal of seafood and mountain produce, and handmade soba noodles made with local buckwheat flour before dinner. This is an inn where you can stop by on your way back from skiing in Yamagata and slowly warm up your cold body with a delicious meal.
