Breakfast is Buffet, so you can enjoy a variety of dishes, including pork shabu-shabu, from the morning. The hot spring bath was spacious and relaxing. It's close to Otaru Station, and the location makes it easy to get around.

• All rooms have a bath with a view of the ocean. There is also a large bath with rocks and a cypress bath. For meals, we enjoyed an elegant breakfast while looking out over the Sea of Japan. You can choose from a creative menu using Kitajima pork and other ingredients from Hokkaido, or a buffet.

• Although it is a little independent guest cottages from Otaru, I recommend Asarigawa Onsen. The Asari Classe Hotel has Japanese and Western room for couples, which I think is nice. The open-air bath surrounded by the green nature was also wonderful. It warmed up my body, which had become cold after walking around Otaru. The French cuisine, which was made with local Hokkaido ingredients, was stylish and delicious. Asarigawa Onsen is not very famous, and not many Japanese people know about it. It is a hot spring recommended for those who want to have a special experience in Japan.

• Perfect hotel for sightseeing at Otaru Canal

• If you are going to visit the Otaru Canal, this is the closest place and is recommended. The exterior looks like a business hotel, but the room was a beautiful Japanese-style twin room. I stayed on the canal side, so I could see the canal right in front of me from the window. There is a large communal bath and an open-air bath, and you can also rent a private open-air bath for a fee, so you can relax and unwind.
