  • Hotel Grandmer Sankaisou
  • I want to go to a hot spring after seeing the autumn leaves in the Shirakami Mountains. What hot spring inns are recommended?

I'm a housewife in my 50s. I'd like to go to Shirakami-Sanchi with married couple to see the autumn leaves and then stay at a hot spring inn. Do you have any recommendations? Due to our travel schedule, we'd like to stay one night near Shirakami-Sanchi or on the Aomori side. I'd like to have breakfast and dinner at the inn. Please keep the budget to 15,000 yen per person.

Hotel Grandmer Sankaisou

  • A hotel with a magnificent view all to yourself

  • Sankaisou is a hotel located on a magnificent site. The hotel has a rare spring quality, where seawater has turned into a natural hot spring, and there is a large public bath and an open-air bath that feels very spacious, which was very pleasant. The meals are buffet style, but you can choose from delicacies such as wagyu steak and abalone teppanyaki, and the portions are very filling. It was a very satisfying hotel.

  • Warm up your body in the fossil seawater hot springs

  • How about "Hotel Grand Mer Sankaisou"? It is located about a 20-minute walk from Ajigasawa Station. The bath is a rare natural hot spring made from ancient seawater, and after bathing, my body remained warm and relaxed. The view from the bath was impressive, as I could see the magnificent sea. There was also a private bath, which would be good for married couple to use.

  • Relax in a Japanese-style room and enjoy the view of the Sea of Japan

  • This hotel is adjacent to the Sea of Japan and Mt. Iwaki. I stayed in a Japanese-style room with a view of the Sea of Japan, and there was a wide veranda where I could relax and enjoy the view. The Japanese-style room was spacious and relaxing. It was also great to be able to enjoy the view of the sea while drinking coffee in the lounge. The bath is a rare hot spring that is made from ancient seawater known as "fossil seawater" that has become natural hot spring water, and the open-air bath and large bath with a view of the sea right in front of you were very relaxing. Breakfast and dinner were served buffet style with dishes made with local ingredients.

  • The open-air bath with a view of the snow was amazing.

  • This hotel faces the Sea of Japan in Nishitsugaru, Aomori Prefecture. There was a wonderful open-air bath, and it felt really good to bathe in the snow. My skin became so smooth. The food was buffet style, and included a local menu that focused on ingredients from Ajigasawa. You could see the cooking in the open kitchen, and it was delicious to eat freshly cooked food.

  • The famous infinity outdoor bath

  • It's over an hour and a half drive from the autumn foliage spots in Shirakami-Sanchi, but this is a lodging I'd recommend for a trip to Aomori. The hot springs spring up from the sea, so they are at the same level as seawater. It's a genuine infinity open-air bath. It's famous and has been featured in the media. I was impressed by the power and sense of openness. The food is unadorned fisherman's cuisine, which brings out the best in the ingredients. I was able to eat lots of fresh seafood.

  • The panoramic open-air bath is popular

  • Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen is located about 18.7 km from the Shirakami Mountains, and is an inn where you can enjoy beautiful seaside scenery and an open-air bath on the shore. Breakfast and dinner are included, and dinner was a kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )meal, so you can really enjoy the hot spring atmosphere. There was a wide variety of dishes, and it was delicious and filling. The open-air bath is unique, and it is a very atmospheric bath located on the shore where the wind hits the waves, so you can relax while bathing at your leisure.

Suigunnoyado

Maitomachi Shimotomita 26-1

  • Experience romance in a boat-shaped open-air bath

  • The hotel is easily accessible, about a 5-minute walk from Ajigasawa Station. There is a boat-shaped open-air bath, which is open and has a romantic view of the night sky. The seasonal Japanese kaiseki dinner was delicious, as was the charcoal-grilled local fish. The room was a standard Japanese-style room and a little small, but it was reasonably priced.
