Hotel Sakurai

465-4 Kusatsu-machi, Agatsuma-gun

  • Absolutely Blown Away by the Buffet's Sheer Variety and Quality!

  •  I have never seen a hotel buffet with this much variety. And what's more, it's all delicious. The second you walk into the dining hall, the sheer selection is almost dizzying. Then, there’s the bathing area—which is just as overwhelming in its size and the number of baths available. They offer several different water temperatures, so you can choose whatever suits you best. It's like a "buffet of baths," too. On top of all that, the staff are clearly well-trained and very pleasant.

  • A luxurious buffet with a live kitchen that will satisfy the whole family

  • If you're traveling with friends or family, I recommend the buffet at Hotel Sakurai. The buffet here has a huge variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, and it was so much fun to choose. The live kitchen is particularly impressive, and I highly recommend trying the Joshu beef steaks that are cooked right in front of you, and the freshly fried tempura. They also have sushi and crab! The freshly squeezed Mont Blanc for dessert was delicious. Everyone from children to adults can eat their fill of whatever they like, so I think it's perfect for traveling with friends or family.

  • The steaks and tempura prepared in the open kitchen are exquisite

  • This hot onsen(hot spring) inn allows you to enjoy the famous waters of Kusatsu onsen(hot spring) directly from the source. They also put a lot of effort into their dinner buffet, offering a wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, as well as freshly prepared food prepared in the open kitchen. The steaks and freshly fried tempura are grilled right before your eyes, offering a delicious taste that can only be achieved when they are freshly made. They also have a wide selection of sushi and desserts, and the fun of choosing from the many menu items is sure to satisfy both adults and children.

The meals are a wide range of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, and there is a full lineup of desserts as well. • Hotel Sakurai offers a buffet with 120 kinds of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes.

  • This is one of the largest Buffet dishes in Kusatsu. You can fill up on 120 different kinds of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, including roast beef that the chef cuts right in front of you and freshly fried tempura. The large bath is one of the largest in Kusatsu, approximately 30 meters in length, and offers three sources, "Bandai-ko and Nishi-no-kawahara mixing" and "Watano-yu," with 100% free-flowing hot-spring water without addition of water. The "Yumomi (A technique in which a board approximately 180cm long is placed in the hot spring to stir the water and lower the temperature until it is ready to bathe.) show" and "Sakura drum show" are held every day from 8:30 p.m. at the inn, and there are many things to look forward to.

  • This is a popular hotel where you can enjoy "Yumomi (A technique in which a board approximately 180cm long is placed in the hot spring to stir the water and lower the temperature until it is ready to bathe.)" and "Sakura Taiko" shows in the hotel. The onsen is very large, and the large bath and open-air bath had different spring qualities, but the open-air bath was very nice with a strong sulfur smell. The dinner at Buffet is a variety of delicious local dishes that will satisfy anyone's appetite.

Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Ichii

  • A Hotel with a Prime Location, Right in Front of the Yubatake

  •  If you're looking for a hotel with a buffet in Kusatsu Onsen, I recommend "Hotel Ichii." It's in a prime location, standing right in front of the "Yubatake," Kusatsu Onsen's famous symbol. It was super easy to just step out for a quick walk at night to see the Yubatake all lit up. The buffet hall just had its grand opening in 2024, so it's very clean. And, of course, the food was delicious with plenty of variety. If your main priority is strolling around the onsen town, I highly recommend it.

  • Recommended hotels with high-quality buffets

  • How about Hotel Ichii? The buffet here is new and spacious, and above all, the quality of the food is really high. The "live kitchen" is especially amazing, where they make Joshu beef steaks and sushi on the spot. The freshly fried tempura was also excellent. They also have crab and roast beef, which the kids loved. Even among buffets where you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like, I think this is a hotel where everyone will be very satisfied with the delicious food.

  • If you're going with your friend's family, I really recommend "Hotel Village"! The dinner buffet has an incredible variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese food—it's so much fun just deciding what to get. You can also get freshly prepared steak and sushi from the live kitchen. They offer an attractive Japanese, Western, and Chinese buffet, featuring menus centered around local Gunma ingredients. The inn is located in a quiet area a little independent guest cottages from the Yubatake hot springs, and a free shuttle bus makes it easy to get around. What impressed me most was the high quality of the dinner buffet. There was a very wide variety of dishes, and we could enjoy a variety of cuisines, including Japanese, Western, and Chinese. The hot dishes were constantly replenished, and all of them were delicious. The large, open-air bath where you can enjoy Kusatsu's famous hot springs was wonderful, and the open-air bath had an open atmosphere that made you feel like you were in the middle of a forest. The hotel is well-equipped with a table tennis room, games corner, and a shop. It was good value for money, and I had a fulfilling stay that was lively yet relaxing.

  • Great Value for Buffet & Kusatsu Onsen

  • I stayed at Hotel New Momiji during my trip to Kusatsu onsen(hot spring). While it's a little independent guest cottages from the center of onsen(hot spring) town, the Yubatake, there's a frequent shuttle bus, so sightseeing wasn't a problem at all. Dinner was a much-anticipated buffet, featuring a wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, including a menu using local ingredients, as well as specially ordered crab and abalone dishes, so I was able to enjoy it to my heart's content. The spacious public bath allowed me to fully enjoy Kusatsu's high-quality hot springs, which seemed to soothe my daily fatigue. The open-air bath was also spacious, so I enjoyed a relaxing soak while admiring the view outside. Apparently, bath to view the snow is available in winter. I was surprised to find such a fulfilling stay at such a reasonable price.
