  • Kirishima Hotel
  • Hike the Kirishima mountain range. Relax in the hot springs of Kirishima.

I'm planning to join a trekking tour of the Kirishima mountain range in Kagoshima Prefecture. I want to stay overnight at Ryokan (Japanese inn) or hotel in Kirishima Onsen, so I can relax in a hot spring after the hike. I'd like to stay somewhere where I can eat at Ryokan (Japanese inn) ryokan. Please let me know your recommendations. I'd appreciate it if you could speak to me in English.

Kirishima Hotel

Makizonocho Takachiho 3948

  • An inn with a connection to Ryoma Sakamoto

  • This is the inn where Sakamoto Ryoma, a popular figure in Japanese history, stayed on his honeymoon while recuperating. As such, there are historical exhibits within the building, allowing you to experience Japanese culture and the traditions of the inn. The hotel's highlight is the large garden bath, which is as complete as a theme park. In addition to being able to enjoy four different spring qualities in the large bath, there are also many other bathing zones, such as standing baths and cascading baths, which are too numerous to mention in this article. Another appealing feature is that it is divided into a women-only area, a men-only area, and Mixed-Gender Hot Springs area, so you can enjoy it in different ways depending on who you're traveling with.

  • The large bath with a depth of 25 meters is very impressive!

  • The highlight of this Ryokan (Japanese inn) is the sulfur valley garden large bath! It is 25 meters deep and has 17 types of hot springs. It is like a hot spring theme park where you can experience four different sound qualities. The food is kaiseki kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )using seasonal and local ingredients. You can also try their specialty black pork. The rooms range from Japanese-style to Western-style, so even those who don't like sleeping on futons can stay here without any problems. Also, the hotel is adjacent to the famous "100-year-old cedar garden," so you can feel the nature.
