  • Super Hotel Izumo-Ekimae
  • What hotels near Izumo Taisha Shrine are recommended for foreigners?

I will be taking an American guest to Izumo Taisha Shrine in late September. Are there any reasonably priced hotels or Ryokan (Japanese inn) that serve good food?

Super Hotel Izumo-Ekimae

1-3-3 Ekiminami-machi, Izumo-shi

  • Recommended for sightseeing

  • The hotel is easily accessible from JR Izumo Station and is convenient for sightseeing at Izumo Taisha Shrine. You can stay in clean rooms with good value for money. There is a facility next door where you can enjoy natural hot springs (separate from the hotel), so I think foreigners will also enjoy it.

  • Business hotel in front of the station

  • If you are traveling by train, there are many hotels near JR Izumo Station. Among them, I recommend "Super Hotel Izumo Ekimae". It is a business hotel. It is simply built, so it is cheap.

  • I recommend Super Hotel Izumo Ekimae. It's a very convenient and easy-to-use hotel located right next to Izumo Station. It's also easy to get to Izumo Taisha Shrine. You can use the hot springs and there is a healthy breakfast Buffet with both Japanese and Western dishes. Your friends from abroad will surely be satisfied. The beds are spacious and comfortable. I recommend it.

  • How about Tamatsukuri Onsen?

  • If you are going to entertain guests from overseas, you want them to experience the Japanese wabi-sabi atmosphere, right? This Ryokan (Japanese inn) is a traditional hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn). It is full of hospitality, with a cypress bathtub and a Japanese-modern lobby that is familiar to overseas visitors.

  • This is a hot spring inn that will satisfy even Americans.

  • If you check in early, you can choose a plan that allows you to stay in a spacious room at a reasonable price. The large Japanese-style room will allow even tall foreigners to relax comfortably. The large bath is made of cypress, which will please you. There is also an open-air bath where you can relax. The meals are also very delicious, with wagyu beef. I was also happy to see that there was a toilet with a washing machine.

Matsunoyu Hotel

1215 Tamayucho-Tamatsukuri, Matsue-shi

  • It is a long-established, relaxing establishment.

  • The weekday rates are very reasonable. The Japanese-style rooms and the large hot spring baths are spacious, so you can relax and enjoy your stay. The food is not extensive, but it is of high quality. It is full of Japanese atmosphere. I recommend taking the express bus to Izumo Taisha Shrine via Izumo Airport, which departs from right next to the inn.

  • Relaxed Japanese style.

  • I stayed at this inn with my elderly mother and visited Izumo Taisha Shrine. It is a relaxing Japanese-style inn, and I'm sure foreigners will also enjoy it. The food was delicious. It would be a good idea to go to Izumo Taisha Shrine while enjoying the shores of Lake Shinji.
