  • Hakone Tenseien Hotel
  • Popular hot spring inns with day trip plans in Hakone Onsen

I'd like to refresh myself in the Hakone hot springs. I have work the next day, so I'd like to use the baths on a day trip, but are there any inns that offer day trip plans?

Hakone Tenseien Hotel

682 Yumoto, Hakone-machi, Ashigara-shimogun

  • Conveniently located, just 15 minutes' walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station

  • If you are just visiting for the day, this hotel is highly accessible. It is a 15-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station, so you can walk there and explore the town at the same time. If it rains or you find it difficult to walk, you can take Ryokan (Japanese inn) Association's shuttle bus course A for 100 yen. Get off at the bus bound for Takidori and it's a 5-minute ride. The hot spring is a natural hot spring with a weak alkaline quality, so you can relax and soak in it for a long time. In addition to the indoor bath, Breathtaking view from the open-air rooftop bath was amazing. For day visitors, you can use the bath for long periods of time from 10:00 am to 9:00 am the next morning, and you can also use the free rest area, the relaxation room that can be used as a nap room, and the dining area, so you can enjoy other things besides the hot springs.

Hakonenomori Okada Hotel

191, Yumotochaya, Hakone-machi, Ashigarasimo-gun

  • Recommended if you want to enjoy a bath after a business trip

  • It is run by the same company as "Yunosato Okada" and Hotel Okada. Like Hotel Okada, there is a plan that allows you to use the baths at "Yunosato Okada". I like to take a nap in a private room after a business trip, so I use the private room plans at these hotels, but this hotel is recommended because it is relatively cheap even if you use a private room.

Hotel Okada

191 Yumoto Chaya, Hakone-Machi, Ashigarashimo-Gun

  • It's like a bath theme park!

  • It's a large hotel with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it perfect for trips with family, friends, or club members. The baths are very spacious and the open-air baths have great views, so it's recommended if you want to enjoy a hot spring to the fullest!

Tokinoyu Setsugetsuka

1300-34 Gora, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • There is a day use plan available. Recommended for relaxing and enjoying the hot springs.

  • I wanted to relax in the hot springs on a day trip, so I chose Setsugekka. It's just under a 5-minute walk from Gora Station, so it's easily accessible and easy to get to. The room with the open-air bath was spacious and clean. The open-air bath in the room is spacious enough for two adults to bathe in, so you can relax in it. You could see the trains from the room, but there was a lattice fence so privacy was ensured. Also, the large public bath was available even with the day trip plan, so I tried it. It was spacious enough, the spring quality was good, and it warmed me up very well. The staff were also very friendly, so I'd like to stay here again next time.

Yoshiike Ryokan

597 Yumoto, Hakone, Ashigarashimo District

  • This is a hotel where you'll want to go just to take a bath.

  • I stayed with a friend! The room was so spacious that I couldn't even use it (lol). The food was delicious, and I couldn't find anything bad to say about it. Above all, the open-air bath was spacious, and there was also an indoor bath, so it didn't feel too crowded even during busy times. If you're uncomfortable bathing close to strangers, I recommend choosing a room based on the size of the bath!

Yumoto Fujiya Hotel

256-1 Yumoto Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • This is the hotel to go to when you want to indulge a little.

  • "I can't stay here on a regular budget trip! But I want to feel a little luxurious!" That's when I go for a day trip with a plan that includes lunch. Above all, it's easy to access from the station! It's close! I stay at another hotel on the first day, and after checking out on the second day, I take a walk in front of Yumoto Station, look at souvenirs, and then go to Yumoto Fujiya Hotel for lunch. After that, I take a bath in the hot spring and ride the Romancecar back home, still warm and cozy. It's the best!

Hakone Onsen Sanso Nakamura

1283-97 Sengokuhara, Asigarashimogun

  • Day trip bathing available! Refresh yourself in the open-air bath overlooking the bamboo forest

  • The bamboo forest visible from the open-air bath has a soothing effect that will refresh you from your daily fatigue. The spacious open-air bath is surrounded by greenery and the cloudy water is said to be effective in treating all kinds of illnesses and for beauty, warming you to the core. This bath is available for day trips. It is available for use between 8am and 6pm, so you can relax at your leisure. There is also a consideration that usage is limited to one hour, so it is not likely to get crowded, which is another recommended point. (The contents of the day trip plan may be subject to change.)

Hakone Pax Yoshino

139-5 Yumotochaya, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • Within walking distance from Hakone Yumoto Station

  • This hotel is located about a 10-minute walk from Hakone Yumoto Station, and also offers massage and beauty treatments. They have a wide range of day trip plans, and while most day trip plans at hot spring inns tend to include Japanese cuisine or kaiseki cuisine, I recommend the hot spring lunch set that comes with a Japanese-style beef stew set! They also offer plans to relax in a room with a hot spring bath, so you can indulge in luxury!
