• The access to Izumo Taisha Shrine and the hot water are perfect. Before checking in, you can enjoy a welcome drink and seasonal desserts. After a stroll around the town, you can enjoy a foot bath in the courtyard at the back of the shop, and then you can be treated to Minami's dashi soup and broad bean sweets at the shop. The tea, drip coffee, and herbal tea in the room are also great. You can also enjoy your meal while quietly checking in on how the guests are eating and moving on to the next dish!

• This is a particularly calming Japanese-style Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Tamatsukuri Onsen. Each and every room exudes a sense of prestige. The views from the rooms are great, and the well-maintained Japanese garden is truly magnificent. You can also enjoy a beautiful view of the townscape from the large public bath and open-air bath on the top floor. Hot spring water flows in the indoor baths in the rooms. The best thing about this inn is being able to relax in a spacious, calming room. There is also a crab kaiseki plan available for single occupancy. I stayed at this inn about 10 years ago, and it remains one of the most memorable inns.
