  • Take the Chuo Line Limited Express from Tokyo to Matsumoto. What is the best hotel for sightseeing at Matsumoto Castle, Japan's oldest national treasure?

I'd like to see Matsumoto Castle, Japan's oldest national treasure. I'm planning to go from Tokyo, and after researching, I found out I can get there on the Chuo Line Azusa Limited Express, so I'm thinking of taking that. Since I'll only be staying in Matsumoto, I'll be staying there. Can you recommend a hotel for sightseeing in Matsumoto? I'd prefer something budget-friendly to mid-range. It's okay if there's no dinner or hot springs.

THE CELECTON Matsumoto

  • Recommended for sightseeing around Matsumoto Castle

  • This hotel is conveniently located not only near Matsumoto Castle, but also within easy walking distance of the surrounding tourist attractions. The Former Kaichi School, with its beautiful Meiji-era Western-style architecture, and Nawate Street, lined with unique shops, are also within walking distance. Another great feature is that you can leave your luggage at the hotel before or after check-in, allowing you to easily explore the castle town.

  • 3 minutes walk to Matsumoto Castle!

  • It's in a great location, just a three-minute walk from Matsumoto Castle. Some rooms even offer views of the castle tower from the window, allowing you to enjoy the castle's changing appearance over time, from its shining morning sun to its illuminated nighttime lights. Though compact, it also comes equipped with a large public bath. If you want to stay close to the castle, this is the hotel for you.
