• If you want to try a Japanese Love Hotel, I highly recommend Hotel Balian. It's just a 5-minute walk from Kinshicho Station, yet the guest rooms have the distinct feel of a Balinese resort hotel. All the rooms are lovely, but if you choose a Suite type, you might get an open-air bath (rotenburo) or a sauna (though the sauna is usually only big enough for one person!). The facilities are excellent, and the drink bar in the lobby is free, even offering complimentary wine! Unlike most other love hotels, you can leave your room key at the front desk and go out, which means you can easily grab a meal elsewhere. This makes it an interesting hotel that operates more like a standard hotel, despite being a love hotel.​​​​​​​​

The rooms are spacious, and the amenities are surprisingly complete, so you don't need to bring much luggage. • I highly recommend Hotel Balian Resort in Kinshicho!  While it originated as a Love Hotel, it's now widely used for "Love Hote Joshi-kai" (girls' parties at a love hotel). You can bring your favorite idol's Blu-ray/DVD and hold a concert viewing party with your friends on a 110-inch screen, or enjoy some karaoke! Some rooms even have an all-you-can-drink alcohol bar,which is a huge plus for enjoying drinks in your room! The wide king bed can sleep four people, and there are sofa beds too, making it suitable for groups of friends, not just couples. It’s perfect for Love Hotel beginners!

• This hotel is located in the Love Hotel district near Uguisudani Station, which is right next to Ueno Station. It's so much fun to choose from the rooms, all of which have different concepts and are incredibly gorgeous! The food menu is also very substantial. You can order Japanese dishes like Katsudon (pork cutlet bowl) and Shoyu Ramen (soy sauce ramen), as well as steak, Italian, and Chinese food. Like Balian, you can leave your key and go out for a meal. The area around the station has convenient options like convenience stores, McDonald's, and Gyūdon (beef bowl) restaurants, and the main street behind the hotel, Kototoi-dori, has many Izakayas (Japanese pubs/bars) where you can eat and drink. So, in addition to the love hotel experience, you can also enjoy a tour of Japanese drinking establishments!​​​​​​

• Lotus Ikebukuro, located in the love hotel district on the west side of Ikebukuro Station, has a "Japan" concept, and the Japanese-style (Wafū) rooms are super interesting! On the first floor, they rent out Yukata (light cotton kimono), Kimono, and even Oiran (courtesan) costumes, which makes taking photos in the room really fun. Choosing the Oiran Room will certainly enhance the mood even more! The room service is surprisingly substantial, offering meals that feature ingredients based on the Japanese seasons. They even have a morning menu. The west exit of Ikebukuro Station has many Izakayas and restaurants, so it's also a great idea to go out for dinner before checking in for the night.

• Let me tell you about an extremely out-of-the-ordinary and crazy hotel. It's "HOTEL ARTIA DINOSAUR MACHIDA," located in Machida City, Tokyo. There are literally dinosaurs inside the room! You can take countless SNS-worthy photos here. With dome-shaped beds that look like dinosaur eggs, a zipline on the rooftop, and even a golf simulator in the common space, you might find yourself asking, "What did I even come here for?!" It's a love hotel where you can play and have a blast. It is absolutely worth the trip to Machida just to visit this hotel! You should definitely brag that you "went to a Japanese love hotel." Just remember, this hotel is exceptionally unique!!!​​​​​​

• This hotel is conveniently located for Asakusa sightseeing and is highly recommended for Love Hotel beginners!  The best feature is that some rooms offer a huge, spectacular view of the Tokyo Skytree. The night view is truly beautiful, guaranteeing a romantic atmosphere. Also, the large bathrooms with Jacuzzis are highly praised in reviews! They are much more spacious than those in business hotels, making them perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. Having a microwave and kettle is also handy for small meals or snacks.​​
