Looking for Hotels with Easy JR or Shuttle Bus Access from New Chitose Airport (CTS). Any tips for winter travel?
I will be using New Chitose Airport (CTS) for my trip to Hokkaido. Since I'm traveling during the winter season, I want to avoid moving through snowy streets. I am looking for a hotel that offers direct JR Rapid Airport train access to Sapporo Station or a hotel that provides a convenient airport shuttle bus service for handling heavy luggage. Please recommend the best hotels in the city center like Sapporo Station or Odori, which are great for sightseeing and dining. Also, please include information on the travel time from the hotel to the airport and the shuttle bus schedules. As a foreign traveler, I'd like to know about the status of JR operations during heavy snow, or any advice on hotels directly connected to the station for smooth transit!
- The best thing about this hotel is that it's directly connected to JR Sapporo Station via an underground passage! Even in the snowy winter, being able to get to the hotel without having to walk outside is extremely convenient for travelers with a lot of luggage. The JR Rapid Airport train takes you directly from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station in about 37 minutes. There's also an airport shuttle bus stop right in front of the hotel, which takes about 100 minutes in winter, but for those who don't want to walk on snowy roads with large luggage, the bus is a recommended means of transportation. It's also about a 5-minute walk from Odori Station, making it a convenient location for sightseeing, ensuring a comfortable stay in Sapporo.Sachiko55 (Early 40s Female)'s answer (Posted on:2025/11/18)

Directly connected to JR Sapporo Station! Snow-free access and the best views
- JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo is literally integrated with JR Sapporo Station, making access from New Chitose Airport incredibly convenient. Once you arrive at Sapporo Station in approximately 37 minutes on the Airport Rapid Express, you can head directly to the hotel without having to cross snowy roads. The airport shuttle bus runs from the Sapporo Station Bus Terminal right in front of the hotel, but since it's directly connected to JR, we recommend taking the JR Airport Rapid Express, especially in winter, for a smoother journey. The staff's attentive service is also highly rated, ensuring a comfortable stay. Additionally, with numerous restaurants and department stores around Sapporo Station, it's a great location with no shortage of dining and shopping options.DANKAIJr (Late 50s Male)'s answer (Posted on:2025/11/18)

Being directly connected to the station means you can check in and out regardless of the weather. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is a large public bath in the hotel!
- Since the subway's Odori Station and Sapporo Station are accessible, you can travel using the underground passages even during heavy snowfall, shortening the distance you have to walk on snowy roads. From the airport to Sapporo Station, you can take the JR Rapid Airport without changing trains. The rooms are stylish and well-designed, making them popular for instagrammable. The hotel also has a large public bath (onsen(hot spring)), so you can relax and unwind after a long day of travel during the cold winter months.Yusuke33 (Early 30s Male)'s answer (Posted on:2025/11/18)

If you use the underground passage from Sapporo Station, you can access the station without having to go through snowy roads, which is very convenient. Even if you have large luggage, once you arrive at Sapporo Station on the Rapid Airport Express, you can move smoothly using the underground passage. JR trains can be delayed in winter, but this hotel is located very close to the station, so you can rest assured even when heading to the airport. The rooms are clean, and there is a women-only lounge, so you can rest easy.YukiNee (Early 50s Female)'s answer (Posted on:2025/11/18)
