  • Hakone Ginyu
  • Are there any hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) in the Hakone area that are easy to get to by train? I'd like one that has an open-air bath.

We will celebrate our first wedding anniversary in mid-November, so we are going on a trip to Hakone for a hot spring to celebrate. We are thinking of going by train. Since it is an important wedding anniversary, the price is not an issue. Please tell me a luxurious hotel where we can go to the hot spring.

Hakone Ginyu

100-1 Miyanoshita, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • Luxury accommodation with a Balinese atmosphere

  • It is a 3-minute walk from Hakone Miyanoshita Station. The lobby is on the top floor and you can take a break on the terrace overlooking the Hakone mountains. The welcome drink is an original drink from the stylish bar next to the lobby with an aquarium. You can enjoy a beer or a drink after your bath in the garden lounge with a terrace. The rooms with open-air baths are spacious, measuring 8 tatami mats x 8 tatami mats, and you can relax with in-room dining.

Hakone Tenseien Hotel

682 Yumoto, Hakone-machi, Ashigara-shimogun

  • A luxurious inn with hot springs

  • Tenseien is a hot spring inn with rooms with luxurious open-air baths. It is a hot spring inn that is ranked highly in popularity, and both the breakfast and dinner are luxurious and delicious. The hot springs, both the private baths and the large public baths, are spacious and relaxing. The inn is well-cleaned and clean, so you can feel safe and secure.

Tokinoyu Setsugetsuka

1300-34 Gora, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • I used it with my girlfriend on the recommendation of an acquaintance.

  • If you take the mountain railway from Hakone Yumoto to Gora Station, it's only a 1-2 minute walk. It's also conveniently located for dining and shopping. The room was clean and comfortable, and although small, it had an open-air bath. Of course, the large open-air bath with 100% natural hot spring is also recommended. There are several family baths (open-air, no reservation required), and each one is different, so you can enjoy them in the morning and evening. Overall, I recommend it as it's good value for money and suitable for couples.

Hakone Hotel Kajikaso

688 Yumoto, Hakone-machi, Ashigawashimo-gun

  • A hotel close to Hakone Yumoto

  • This is a long-established luxury hotel in Hakone Yumoto. It's about a 5-minute walk from Hakone Yumoto Station. If you take a look around the souvenir shops, you'll arrive at Ryokan (Japanese inn) while you're still having fun. It's not for group tourists, so you can enjoy the hot springs and the food in peace. There are also rooms with open-air baths with free-flowing water, so you can relax and unwind. The hotel also has a foot bath with 100% natural hot spring and an open-air bath with a view, so you can fully enjoy the hot springs. The service is also excellent, so I don't think you'll go wrong choosing Ryokan (Japanese inn).

Hotel Okada

191 Yumoto Chaya, Hakone-Machi, Ashigarashimo-Gun

  • Enjoy Hakone Yumoto Onsen with a wide variety of bathing facilities

  • I have stayed at Hotel Okada. We went with our children so we chose a cheaper plan, but the main building had a room with an open-air bath and the interior had a very luxurious atmosphere. The food was also pretty good. What I recommend about this hotel is that it has a day spa, and there are 13 open-air baths in the large communal bath, so you can enjoy a variety of different hot springs. I think it's a good choice for people who want to relax at the hotel.

Hakone Pax Yoshino

139-5 Yumotochaya, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • Renovated hotel in Hakone

  • The hotel has undergone a major renovation, so you can stay in beautiful rooms. What's more, rooms with a semi-open-air hot spring bath start at 20,000 yen per person, and all the newly built rooms are non-smoking. There is a shuttle bus from Hakone-Yumoto Station, so it's convenient. The hotel is also conveniently located, about 12 minutes on foot.

Ryokan Aura Tachibana

574 Yumoto, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • Stylish room with open-air bath

  • You can spend a relaxing time together in the open-air bath of natural hot springs while looking out over Hakone Yumoto from your modern room. The atmosphere inside the hotel is sophisticated and urban, even though it is a hot spring inn. The food is wonderful and creative Japanese cuisine, so it is good to eat and good to look at. Breakfast is also very enjoyable with many different types of side dishes in small portions. Highly recommended. It is about a 10-minute walk from Hakone Yumoto Station, and you can move around while enjoying the unique atmosphere of the hot spring town and souvenir shops.

Hakoneyumoto Onsen Yaeikan

484 Yumoto, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • It is just a 6-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station.

  • Since you're going by train, I think this inn is perfect. It's about a 6-minute walk from Odawara Station and Hakone-Yumoto Station. You can also use the shuttle bus from the station to the inn for 100 yen per person. It's a Japanese-style Ryokan (Japanese inn) in a quiet environment surrounded by greenery, with a lovely exterior. Each room has a different feel, so please choose the room you like. All the rooms are lovely and modern Japanese. I stayed in the "Soun" room. The open-air bath with a view of the garden was very pleasant. The lighting in the room created a nice atmosphere, and it was a very nice room.
