  • Shimoda Tokyu Hotel
  • [Izu Peninsula] Seafood accommodations recommended for families with children

We are going on a trip to the Izu Peninsula with 2 adults and 3 children. We are thinking of spending about 50,000 yen for everyone. We would like a place that includes 1 night and 2 meals and where we can eat delicious seafood. It would be great if there was a hot spring.

Shimoda Tokyu Hotel

5-12-1, shimoda, shizuoka, Japan

  • There is an open-air bath with a pool and ocean view.

  • It's a long-established hotel and the building is a little old, but the staff are friendly and it's comfortable. The sea is close by and very clean. There are also rooms with ocean views. There is a pool, and it's separate from the one for small children, so you can play safely. There is also a hot spring, which you can use from early in the morning, and the sunrise you can see from the open-air bath is the best. Dinner was a Japanese-Western fusion course meal, and breakfast was a Buffet with a menu that incorporated ingredients from Izu and Shizuoka prefectures.

Shimoda Prince Hotel

  • A hotel with Breathtaking view near Shirahama Beach

  • This hotel is located on Shirahama Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Izu. There is a pool and hot springs, and the Kawazu cherry blossoms bloom in February, so you can get a head start on spring. The rooms are spacious and have a great ocean view. The location is also great for swimming, so I recommend it. The food is Japanese and Western, and the simmered golden-eyed snapper was delicious. There was also spiny lobster, so you could enjoy the seafood of Izu. There is an underwater aquarium near the hotel where you can interact with dolphins.

Arai Ryokan

  • Ryokan (Japanese inn) in a building designated as an Important Cultural Property

  • The building of this Ryokan (Japanese inn) is an important cultural property, so it is a tasteful building. There are many repeat customers and it has a great reputation. From the food to the hot springs, this Ryokan (Japanese inn) offers such high quality and service that it would not be surprising if it were priced higher than this. There are various hot springs, and the baths have a sense of history. It's a place that makes you want to go back.

Hotel Dougashima New Ginsui

2977-1 Nishina

  • A hotel with a Breathtaking view ocean view in Dogashima, Nishiizu

  • Although the price is a little high, the hot spring and the food are satisfying. Nishiizu Town has beautiful sunsets and you can see wonderful scenery from the observation lounge, rooms, and open-air bath. The Japanese banquet meal was centered around seafood, and the steamed abalone was very delicious. There is also a dinner menu for small children and elementary school students. The large public bath is large and glass-walled, so it has an open feeling and you can see the ocean. There is also karaoke, a pool, a table tennis corner, and a games corner, so you won't get bored.

  • There are also leisure spots near the hotel where children can have fun.

  • How about a hotel resort? The hotel has an open-air bath with 100% natural hot spring, a large bath, and a sauna. There is also a table tennis room, golf course, and beauty salon. For sightseeing in the area, Joren Falls is relatively close. It can be enjoyed by both adults and children, and there is also an abundance of seafood.

Ohito Hotel

  • The view from the bath is great. Mount Fuji is right in front of you.

  • This is an old Prince Hotel, and there are two types of meals: Buffet and a creative Japanese meal. I think you can use it without worrying even if you have children. You can choose between Buffet or Japanese food, so if you like sashimi, you might want to choose the Japanese meal. Nearby is Shuzenji Niji no Sato, where you can enjoy steam locomotives and nature, so I think your children will be satisfied. The hotel also has a hot spring, so you can take a relaxing bath while looking at Mt. Fuji. As for strawberry picking, the strawberries in Nirayama and Ema are large and delicious.

  • Although it is a chain hotel with branches all over the country, it offers many services that are great for families with children. Meals are served in a Buffet style with Japanese, Western and Chinese cuisine, including alcohol, and seafood such as abalone, sashimi and golden-eyed snapper can be ordered separately. • Enjoy a buffet of Izu seafood and desserts

  • This is a child-friendly hotel, and there are many rental items for small children. The ocean is beautiful as you relax in the lobby drinking freshly ground coffee. You can also drink coffee after check-out, so it's a good deal. (Coffee is provided free of charge.) The Nishiizu Toi Onsen hot springs, where you can bathe while looking at the ocean, are also great. Dinner is kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )made with fresh seafood from Izu and seasonal ingredients. There is also a dessert buffet with a wide variety that children can enjoy.

Izu Atagawaso

969-1 Naramoto, Higashiizu-cho, Kamo-gun

  • A national lodging facility with an ocean view close to Izu Atagawa Station

  • There are many hot spring inns within walking distance of Izu Atagawa Station in Atagawa Onsen, and the public inn is the most reasonable. It has a nostalgic atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in old Japan. It's old, but it was clean and comfortable to stay. The room was spacious, and you can enjoy the hot spring water from 100% natural hot spring and seafood from Izu. I was surprised at how luxurious the dinner was.
