Hot Springs Ryokans with Rooms Overlooking the Atami Fireworks?
I'm planning a trip to see the Atami Sea Fireworks Festival with two friends. We'd love to stay in a hot springs ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) where we can enjoy the fireworks beautifully from our room. Do you have any recommendations? Our budget is around 20,000 yen per person per night. We're flexible on room and meal types.

- Hotel New Akao is an exceptional hotel perched dramatically over the ocean at Nishikigaura, one of Atami's most scenic spots. While all rooms boast ocean views, if you stay in an Ocean Wing room facing Atami City, you'll get an unobstructed view of the fireworks. Even if you're not in an Ocean Wing room, the hotel offers special viewing seats exclusively for guests, making it a top recommendation for anyone wanting to enjoy the fireworks festival..モモンガ's answer (Posted on:2025/7/18)

- Every room at Kamenoi Hotel Atami faces Atami Bay, making it an excellent choice for fireworks viewing! While the fireworks might seem a little distant, it's far more relaxing to enjoy them from your room's balcony with a beer than to brave the crowded venues. They have rooms that can accommodate up to four people, which is perfect for a trip with friends. The hotel was recently renovated, so it's fresh and clean. Be aware that room rates increase on fireworks days, and these rooms fill up fast because everyone wants to see the fireworks from their room, so book early!mariruri's answer (Posted on:2025/7/18)

Private & English-Friendly Ryokan for Discerning Travelers
- This Ryokan is renowned for its 100% natural, free-flowing hot springs that are neither circulated nor filtered. It boasts five private open-air baths, all located on the top floor, offering superb views while you soak. Since they are private, you can enjoy your time without worrying about others, ensuring a truly personal experience. If you want to see the fireworks from your room, booking a sea-facing room is essential. Some fireworks might be partially obscured by a neighboring apartment building, but if that's not an issue, it's a great choice. Prime Spot for Atami Fireworks & Amazing Onsen and Meals!
- My spouse and I recently stayed at "Tsukino Sumika Atami Juraku Hotel," which is incredibly convenient, just a 3-minute walk from Atami Station. Our main goal was to see the Atami Sea Fireworks Festival from our room! From the ocean-facing room we stayed in, the fireworks launched right in front of us, and the sheer power of it left us speechless. Being able to witness such a magnificent fireworks display in a private space truly felt like the ultimate luxury. If you pick the right season and plan, you can stay for around 20,000 yen per person, which is an incredible value for this quality. We had both dinner and breakfast in our room, which meant we didn't have to move and could relax without worrying about others. The dishes featured fresh seafood and local ingredients like Izu beef. The freshly cooked kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot) for breakfast and the self-grilled Atami specialty dried fish were unforgettable. The hot springs were also superb; Atami Onsen, known for its skin-beautifying effects, left our skin smooth and soft after bathing. Besides the large public bath, there were also free-to-use private baths, which was great for enjoying the hot springs leisurely with my spouse. And the warm hospitality of the staff truly left a lasting impression. Their meticulous attention to detail and smiling service helped us relax and forget our daily fatigue. If you want to create the best memories in Atami, "Tsukino Sumika Atami Juraku Hotel" is definitely the right choice!すらりん's answer (Posted on:2025/7/18)

Spectacular Fireworks & Excellent Hot Spring Facilities
-
My family and I recently stayed at Atami Korakuen Hotel because we wanted to enjoy the Atami Sea Fireworks Festivalleisurely from our room! The hotel's location, facing Atami Bay, is simply superb. We specifically requested an ocean-view room where we could see the fireworks when we booked, and we were incredibly moved by the powerful fireworks display from our balcony. Especially on fireworks days, the entire hotel was filled with a festive atmosphere, which added to the excitement.
For meals, you can choose between a buffet primarily featuring seafood or a more relaxed kaiseki (traditional multi-course dinner) meal, which is a great option. I chose the buffet, and the fresh sashimi and roast beef, among many other varieties, were all delicious. Dining while overlooking the ocean further enhanced the resort feeling. The hotel has an attached hot spring facility, and the open-air standing bath there offered a spectacular view that felt integrated with Sagami Bay. It's quite deep, so it might not be suitable for small children, but there are various other baths for the whole family to enjoy. There's also a large panoramic bath within the hotel, where we could enjoy a wonderful night view of Sagami Bay while bathing. Additionally, with shops, karaoke, and esthetic services, you can easily spend an entire day enjoying yourself within the hotel!ふろっぴ's answer (Posted on:2025/7/18)

All rooms have ocean views! See the fireworks from your room!
- I stayed here for one night, though it wasn't during a fireworks day. It's right in front of the ocean, and all rooms have ocean views! Plus, I heard that the rooftop terrace offers excellent fireworks views. The rooms are spacious, and the large windows offer great views of the sea. Not just the rooms, but the entire hotel is designed functionally, making it suitable for long-term stays. There's even an area recommended for "workation" (work + vacation), where you can enjoy all-you-can-drink beer and free snacks while working, then relax in the hot springs – it's the best! While it's not an open-air bath, the large public bath with hot springs was very satisfying. To enter, you input a key code sent via email at the 1F entrance, and check-in is done via a tablet with an operator, so there are no staff present on the 1F. Just be aware that you cannot store luggage here!まりるり's answer (Posted on:2025/7/16)

Make Sure to Request a Fireworks View Room!
- You can see the fireworks from your room at Boyokan Hotel! It's located on a hill with panoramic views of Sagami Bay, on the opposite side of the station from Atami's bustling downtown. It's a 15-minute walk from Atami Station, or a 5-minute walk from the bus stop if you take a local bus. There are two types of rooms with fireworks views: Western-style and Japanese-style, both of which can accommodate three people. Of course, you can enjoy the hot springs, and the panoramic open-air hot spring bath is highly recommended for its ocean views. Hotels are quite expensive during fireworks season! However, Boyokan offers a relatively affordable option even with the increased rates.Japan Traveler 55's answer (Posted on:2025/7/22)
