Could you please recommend a place to stay in a Kyoto townhouse? My budget is less than 20,000 yen for two people Accommodation only.
I heard that there are lodgings in Kyoto that use "machiya" houses. I would like to stay there, but it is difficult to rent an entire authentic machiya house because it is expensive.
Please let me know about a reasonably priced place to stay, even if it's "machiya-style". Please exclude hotels like guesthouses and youth hostels. My budget is less than 20,000 yen for two people with no meals. I would prefer a place near Kyoto Station, Shijo, Gion, or Kiyomizu-dera.

- Are you looking for a traditional townhouse rather than a guesthouse? Although the accommodation fee is a little higher, we recommend "Kyoto Inn Hokkaikan Ohanabo." It is a typical Kyoto-style Japanese building that blends in with the townscape so well that you might walk right past it without paying attention.るき's answer (Posted on:2017/3/15)

This is a townhouse-style inn with a Kyoto-like atmosphere.
- The inn is about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station and is right in front of Higashi Honganji Temple. The building and rooms have a calming Japanese atmosphere that is typical of Kyoto. It was well-cleaned and had a clean feeling. The staff were kind, and the people and the building were warm. You can also freely enter the grounds in the morning, so it's nice to take a walk around Higashi Honganji Temple. Local people come here to walk their dogs, so it's fun to get a feel for the local lifestyle.さばにゃんこ's answer (Posted on:2014/7/11)
