Looking for Hotel Recommendations Around Lake Shinji, Shimane Prefecture
I'm planning a trip to the San'in region, and I'd really love to see the sunset over Lake Shinji in Shimane Prefecture. Can anyone recommend some great hotels in the Lake Shinji area?
8Hotel rankings chosen by people
- This hotel offers stunning, panoramic views of Lake Shinji right from your room! The entire wall facing the lake is made of glass, so the moment you step into your room, you're greeted by the beautiful scenery. When I stayed there, I arrived quite late, but the staff were incredibly welcoming and even carried my luggage to my room. What really impressed me was how the nakai-san (room attendant) proactively replaced my tea with a fresh cup when they came to lay out the futon. It's those little touches that really make a stay special! While the hotel might show its age a bit, it's impeccably clean, and the baths and changing rooms are well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable experience.らすく's answer (Posted on:2016/9/19)

Enjoy Lake Shinji Views from Your Room & Public Baths!
- You'll be absolutely charmed by the breathtaking views of Lake Shinji from the guest room windows, the spacious public bath, and even the sauna here! It's incredibly relaxing. For dinner, I highly recommend the Peking duck and Shimane beef steak – both were absolutely delicious! And the breakfast spread? Simply fantastic!
The location is super convenient too. It's just a 10-minute drive from Matsue Station, or an 18-minute bus ride. Even better, it's a mere 1-minute walk from Matsue Shinji-ko Onsen Station!saru2022's answer (Posted on:2023/11/18)

A Traditional Japanese Inn Near Lake Shinji
- This is a wonderful traditional Japanese inn (ryokan) conveniently located close to Lake Shinji. They offer a complimentary shuttle service from the nearest JR Tamatsukuri-Onsen Station, making it super easy for train travelers! Your room will be a comfortable Japanese-style tatami room, offering lovely views of a traditional Japanese garden.
When it comes to the hot springs, you'll find indoor and outdoor baths, plus the fantastic option of a private reservable bath – perfect if you prefer to enjoy the onsen without sharing! For your meals, prepare to indulge in local delicacies like turban shell (sazae), abalone (awabi), and premium Shimane Wagyu beef. Be sure to try the Nita rice served at breakfast; it's highly acclaimed across Japan for its exceptional taste! Lake Shinji is about a 20-minute walk from the ryokan, and catching the sunset there on a leisurely stroll is highly recommended.ウイングチップ's answer (Posted on:2014/9/30)

Unbeatable Views from Your Room!
- The views of Lake Shinji from the hotel room windows here are absolutely unbeatable – truly magnificent! I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room with an open-air bath, and the view from the tub was equally stunning. The room itself was immaculate and incredibly comfortable.
The food was also delicious; not only was dinner outstanding, but the breakfast offered a fantastic variety of dishes, leaving me completely satisfied. While the sunset isn't directly visible from the hotel (it's on the opposite side of the lake), it's only about a 10-minute drive away, and there seem to be buses available. The next day, I took a Lake Shinji cruise, and gliding across the lake with the wind in my hair was an incredibly refreshing experience!ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/9/27)
