A Shukubo offering a variety of enjoyable experiences
It’s a Shukubo in Koyasan, Wakayama Prefecture, but it offers such a wide variety of accommodation plans (which might not seem typical for a Shukubo) that it makes for an interesting place to stay. Choose from a variety of plans, including a 1-night 2-meal package with morning services and Shojin Ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine), an overnight stay with no meals where you can bring your own food, and optional activities like making prayer beads or joining a morning tour of the Danjo Garan (elevated precinct) with a monk. Although it's not cheap, the rooms do have a toilet, washbasin, and Wi-Fi, so for the price, it's reasonable. I think making prayer beads in particular will be a memorable experience!
