Just a 10-Minute Walk from Arima Onsen Station – Enjoy the "Silver Spring"!
Just a 10-Minute Walk from Arima Onsen Station – Enjoy the "Silver Spring"! Maple Arima is a fantastic choice! While Arima Onsen has a lot of hills, this ryokan is only a 10-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station. It’s a gentle stroll, almost like a leisurely walk through the town (I even managed to walk to a hotel further up the hill!). They also offer a shuttle bus service from Arima Onsen Station, though reservations are required. For a weekday stay, you can snag a room-only plan for around 8,000 to 10,000 yen per person, which is incredibly cheap for Arima Onsen! There are plenty of places to eat nearby, so you can enjoy dinner out and then come back to soak in the "Silver Spring" (Ginsen), a famous Arima Onsen specialty.

Indulge in 6 Types of Baths and a Sauna for Around ¥20,000 – Perfect for Solo Travelers!
Ginsen, called "Toyoju no Yu," is pumped into six baths, a full-body bath, Lying-down bath utase-yu(a stream of hot water falling down on your shoulders like a small waterfall), a bubble bath, a walking bath, and a pressure bath. There is also an infrared sauna. There are several kaiseki courses available, ranging from a course with yellowtail Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot)-shabu as the main dish to black-haired wagyu steak, black-Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot), and kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ). Arima Onsen Station is a 12-minute walk away, and the hot spring town is close by. A plan with only breakfast costs less than 10,000 yen, so in that case you could have dinner in the hot spring town.

A "Peace of Mind" Choice: Clean, Comfortable, and Reliable
If you're staying with a friend (just the two of you), I think "Maple Arima" is a great choice. A really nice plus is that it's relatively new and feels very clean and fresh. That "feeling of cleanliness" (seiketsukan) is a big deal and very reassuring. Here’s a practical tip: If you're aiming for a budget under 15,000 JPY per night, I recommend getting the "breakfast included" plan and just eating dinner out. It's in a super convenient location—only about a 10-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station, which is perfect for strolling around the onsen town. The onsen (public bath) is also spacious and really comfortable. If you prioritize a good balance of comfort and price over pure luxury, this is the perfect fit.

The Main Attraction? Its Incredibly Spacious Bath!
It’s a "room-only" (no meals) plan, but if you're looking for good value in Arima Onsen, you should definitely check out "Maple Arima." Here’s the key point: It doesn't use the famous brown "Kinsen" (Gold Spring). Instead, it has its own private spring source (jika gensen) of the clear "Radium Ginsen" (Silver Spring). And let me tell you, this water feels amazing! The main public bath (daiyokujo) is so spacious, and they also have a rotenburo (open-air bath) and a sauna. You'll be completely satisfied just from the bathing experience alone. It's the perfect setup for a travel style where you spend the day doing tabe-aruki (snacking and walking) in the onsen town, and then return at night to soak away your fatigue in that huge, relaxing bath.

The Smart Way to Enjoy Arima: Go for the "Room-Only" Plan
If you're looking to stay in Arima Onsen for under 15,000 JPY, how about the "sudomari" (room-only, no meals) plan at Maple Arima? The location is great—only about a 10-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station. You can drop your bags and head right out to explore the onsen town. For dinner, the onsen town has tons of delicious restaurants, so eating out is cheaper and way more fun because you can just pick whatever you want. The hotel itself has a big public bath and a rotenburo (open-air bath), so you can still fully enjoy Arima's clear "Ginsen" (Radium Silver Spring) water. It's the perfect inn for anyone who wants the full onsen experience but also wants to be smart about saving money on their stay.

You can eat domestic Kuroge Wagyu beef Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot)and take a dip in the natural radium Ginsen!
I recommend Maple Arima Hotel because it offers affordable accommodation with meals included. Not only does it serve Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot)made with Japanese black beef, but it also serves sashimi, so your overseas friends will love it. The large communal bath has a walking bath, a reclining Lying-down bath, a jacuzzi, and a sauna, so you can feel like you're visiting hot springs even just inside the hotel. It's only a 10-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station, so it's a recommended hotel for people visiting Arima Onsen for the first time.

There are great value plans available that include one night stay and two meals.
This hotel has a large public bath with various types of baths, including Lying-down bath and utase-yu(a stream of hot water falling down on your shoulders like a small waterfall). There is also a plan that allows you to enjoy a wonderful course meal only on weekdays, so you can stay at a great price. The large public bath is switched between men and women, so you can enjoy two baths in one night, making this a great deal!

This inn has a large indoor bath, a reclining Lying-down bath, a jacuzzi bath, a sauna, and many other types of baths, so you can really enjoy the hot springs to the fullest. There are Japanese-style and Western-style rooms, so you can choose whether you prefer beds or futons.

An inn with a wide variety of hot springs
In addition to the large bath where you can bathe your whole body, the large public bath also has Lying-down bath, a jacuzzi, and a sauna. You'll want to go back again and again without getting bored because there are so many different baths to choose from. There are Japanese-style rooms, of course, but most rooms are bed rooms, so you can stay like you're in a hotel.
