• This is Ryokan (Japanese inn) with natural hot springs. The hot spring is a simple sulfur spring with many beneficial effects, and you can enjoy a pleasant bath while looking at the Echigo mountain range. For dinner, we had a traditional banquet of local cuisine made with plenty of local ingredients, and we also enjoyed Echigo Mochi Pork and Niigata Wagyu Beef.

• 川端康成が小説「雪國」を執筆した宿が現存していると知り、宿泊しました。執筆活動をした部屋は現存しており見学できました。温泉の温度は調整無しで43°とのことで、私にはやや熱かったですね。露天風呂は女性だけになります。料理全般で新潟県内の食材を調理したものが多く、お刺身も川魚がありました。

• We recommend "Yukiguni no Yado Takahan," located about a 10-minute walk from GALA Yuzawa. This historic inn is famous for being the place where Yasunari Kawabata wrote Snow Country. The room in which he wrote the novel has been preserved as it was, and can be visited. You can also relax in the large public bath and open-air bath, surrounded by nature and 100% natural hot spring.
