  • Senomoto Kogen Hotel
  • Any recommendations for a great but affordable ryokan in Kurokawa Onsen, plus nearby things to see?

My husband and I are planning our first trip to Kurokawa Onsen for two nights this autumn as part of a tour of Kyushu. Could you recommend a ryokan that's perfect for a relaxing couple's getaway?

  • A Cozy and Affordable Hideaway in Kurokawa Onsen

  • This Kurokawa Onsen hotel prides itself on the spectacular scenery from its location 920 meters up on a highland plateau. The lobby itself offers a panoramic vista of the Senomoto Highlands and the five peaks of Mt. Aso. You can enjoy this magnificent view while soaking in the natural hot springs, whether from the incredibly spacious "Zekkei Hana no Yu" open-air bath overlooking the Aso grasslands, the glass-fronted "Senshin no Yu" observation bath, or one of the private baths. The culinary experience also connects you to the land, with kaiseki meals featuring ingredients sourced from Kumamoto and Aso.

  • Meals are included and the price is reasonable at just over 10,000 yen.

  • How about the Senomoto Kogen Hotel? It is reasonably priced at just over 10,000 yen, including meals. It is located about a 70-minute drive from the Hita IC on the Oita Expressway. At night, you can enjoy the starry sky from the open-air bath. The alkaline simple spring water is effective against muscle pain. For meals, you can enjoy a course meal using seasonal ingredients.

report

  • The open-air bath in the middle of nature was amazing.

  • This inn offers accommodation for around 10,000 yen per person per night, including breakfast. The open-air bath in the middle of nature had a great sense of openness and a great view, and we had a blissful time. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast had a wide variety of options, all of which were carefully prepared and delicious. It's really good value for money, so I'd like to stay here again.
