  • Any recommendations for a great but affordable ryokan in Kurokawa Onsen, plus nearby things to see?

My husband and I are planning our first trip to Kurokawa Onsen for two nights this autumn as part of a tour of Kyushu. Could you recommend a ryokan that's perfect for a relaxing couple's getaway?

  • An Inn Where You Can Experience the Authentic Charm of Kurokawa

  • This long-established inn, dating back to the late Edo period, lets you truly feel its history and savor the authentic atmosphere of Kurokawa Onsen. The grand public baths are as atmospheric as the inn itself, making for a wonderfully leisurely soak; the views from both the indoor and open-air baths are so stunning you'll never want to get out. The serene guest rooms with their beautiful views of the trees, the elegant seiro-mushi (basket-steamed) dishes of local meat and vegetables, and the attentive staff all come together to create a deeply historic and comfortable stay.

  • Relax and unwind at a historic inn

  • The most historical inn in the Kurokawa Onsen group and one of our recommendations is "Rekishi no Yado Onkyakuya." The selling point of this inn is the comfortable, homely atmosphere♪ The calming wooden structure and the right amount of hospitality that is not too excessive, and above all, the comfort of the sulfate spring that makes your skin smooth are exceptional. This is a recommended inn with hot springs, including the high quality of the voluminous and delicious local cuisine.
