  • Onyado Shikishimakan - Kotohira Hotspring
  • Best Ryokans & Hotels in Kotohira Onsen, Kagawa

I'm planning a trip to Shikoku and want to stay in Kotohira Onsen (Kagawa). Can anyone recommend a nice ryokan? I'd really love one with an open-air bath (rotenburo).

Onyado Shikishimakan - Kotohira Hotspring

713-1 Kawanishi, Kotohiracho

  • A retro inn that was previously registered as a national tangible cultural property!

  • This nostalgic, three-story wooden inn blends its Meiji-era origins with a beautiful modern renovation by the renowned Kyoritsu Resort. The result is a captivating fusion of Japanese tradition and contemporary style. While preserving its historic soul, the inn offers a wealth of modern comforts. Relax in the extensive public baths (each with indoor, rock, and cypress barrel tubs) or book one of the four unique private baths. Enjoy amenities like a foot bath and colorful yukata rentals before savoring a fresh, seasonal kaiseki dinner. The luxurious Japanese-style breakfast is also sure to satisfy.

  • A bathtub with a modern Japanese feel

  • Shikishimakan is an inn that opened in 2019, and you can enjoy its historic structure and modern interior. The open-air bath is bathed in sunlight and moonlight, and you can take your time bathing in the large tub, and enjoy the cypress and rock bath. The food is served in specially selected dishes and with ingredients that are only available at the time.
