  • A lodging where you can enjoy seafood at Konpira Onsen

I'm going to celebrate my husband's birthday at a hotel in Konpira Onsen. I'd like to be able to enjoy my husband's favorite seafood in a private room or in the room at my leisure. Are there any recommended hotels?

Kotohira Kadan

1241-5 Kotohira-cho, Nakatado-gun

  • A lodging where you can enjoy the bounty of Setouchi.

  • This inn is located at the starting point of the path to Konpira Shrine. The meals are mainly seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, due to the location. The main dishes are sea bream and flounder sashimi. Olive beef, a specialty of Kagawa Prefecture, is soft and the more you chew it, the more the olive aroma spreads in your mouth.

  • You can enjoy kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )in your room.

  • This inn offers plans where you can dine in your room. For dinner, you can choose from a kaiseki dinner that combines seafood and seasonal mountain produce, a kaiseki dinner with beef, chicken, and pork as the main dish, and a kaiseki dinner filled with seasonal flavors. The guest rooms are independent guest cottages buildings, and the majority of them are Japanese-style rooms where you can fully experience the beauty of Japan.

  • Enjoy seafood in the privacy of your own room at Konpira Onsen

  • This inn is located at the foot of the 400-year-old shrine forest in Konpira Onsen. From the garden lounge, you can see the gardens on the premises and the greenery of Mount Zozu (Mount Kotohira), which is also designated as a national park. You can also enjoy the open-air bath and large bath, located right next to the hot springs and the nature of Mount Kotohira. Meals are served in your room and include kaiseki kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )made with local seasonal ingredients such as Sanuki beef and olive pork.

  • A lodging where you can dine in your room in a sukiya-style independent guest cottages building

  • If you stay in a sukiya-style independent guest cottages or a room with an open-air bath, you can dine in your room. The meals are delicious, with kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )that includes fresh seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, Sanuki beef, Sanuki Yumeton pork, Sanuki Cochin chicken, and Sanuki udon. It has the feel of a relaxing inn for adults with a resort feel, and I think it's the perfect place for married couple to relax.

  • This is a Konpira Onsen inn where you can dine in your room.

  • The Japanese-style rooms are built in the traditional Sukiya style, and some rooms even have an open-air bath. You can enjoy special kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )that makes use of Kagawa ingredients, such as olive pork and fresh fish from the Seto Inland Sea.

  • A long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) you can relax with in-room dining

  • Kotohira Kadan is one of the oldest Ryokan (Japanese inn) in the hot spring town, having been in business for over 400 years. The exterior has a rather retro feel, but the interior is very modern and beautifully decorated. There is an observation bath with a panoramic view of the city, and an open-air bath with a beautiful illuminated bamboo forest as a backdrop. There are many in-room dining plans, so you can enjoy a variety of cuisines.
