Zao Kokusai Hotel

933 Zao Onsen

  • It's convenient

  • This hotel is conveniently located near the ropeway station that you use to go to see the frost-covered trees. During peak times, you may have to wait for quite a while as they will hand out numbered tickets. So, please dress warmly. The hotel is comfortable with hot springs, rooms, and food, so there is nothing to complain about.

  • It's also a great place to see the frost-covered trees.

  • This is a popular and famous hotel that is one of the largest in Zao Onsen. It is also close to the ropeway station, making it very convenient for going to see the frost-covered trees. Zao Onsen has a high sulfur content and has a unique smell of cloudy, sulfur-rich hot springs. This is a very atmospheric hotel with such an old-fashioned hot spring.

  • This is a delicious inn where you can relax in the hot springs of Zao Onsen and enjoy delicious meals. It is a Japanese-style inn, and of course the rooms are Japanese-style. It is a very beautiful place. The meals are Japanese-style kaiseki kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )that focuses on seasonal and local ingredients. You can eat Yamagata beef. The hot spring is a famous hot spring in Zao, counted as one of the three high hot springs in the Ou region, known as Zao Takayu.

Zao Shikino Hotel

1272 Zao Onsen

  • Surrounded by the four seasons of winter

  • This is an inn where you can enjoy the changing seasons around Zao Onsen, including the frost-covered trees. There is support for the ski resort, but you can also use the hot springs at the sister hotel, and there is also plenty of support for elderly people. The snowy scenery from the open-air bath is especially recommended. It's also nice that there is a foot bath so you don't have to stay in the bath for too long.
