Kinosaki Onsen | Best Ryokan for a Solo Male Traveler?
I'm planning a solo trip for myself (male). Could anyone recommend an onsen ryokan that has a quiet, mature atmosphere, similar to an "adult's hideaway"?I am looking for a plan that includes one night and breakfast, with a budget of under 20,000 yen.

If you're a man traveling solo and looking for a quiet place to stay, I think 'Tokiwa Bekkan' is an excellent choice.
Kinosaki Onsen is famous for its 'Sotoyu Meguri,' which is hopping between the different public bathhouses, but the ryokan's own large bath (daiyokujo) offers its own kind of hidden luxury. You can soak leisurely in the hot spring while gazing out at the garden.
The inn itself has a very calm, settled atmosphere, so you'll feel completely comfortable staying there alone.
If you choose the 'breakfast only' plan, I think you'll find that it often fits within your budget. It's definitely worth checking out.KazuSan (Early 50s Male)'s answer (Posted on:2025/10/27)

A holiday spent at Kinosaki's "Quiet Annex"
-
Tokiwa Annex in Kinosaki onsen(hot spring) is truly an "adult hideaway." Its key feature is its quiet location, set back a little from the willow-lined street in the center of the onsen(hot spring) town. This allows you to relax in the evenings. It's also conveniently located within walking distance of the seven outdoor public baths. You should be able to find a weekday plan for one night with breakfast Visiting hot springs within your budget of 20,000 yen.YamadaKacho (Late 30s Male)'s answer (Posted on:2025/10/27)

Breakfast included, available for one person
- This hotel offers a plan for single occupancy with breakfast included, so it should suit your needs. The price is also within your budget, so I recommend it. After enjoying soto-yu (public bathhouses), relax in the indoor bath. The open-air rock bath is a real treat.アラート's answer (Posted on:2020/12/27)

This is a recommended accommodation for men traveling alone in Kinosaki Onsen.
- This is a limited date plan, but there is a plan for a solo trip to Kinosaki (some meals are served in the room). The hot springs are chloride hot springs, and you can enjoy them in the large public bath or the open-air rock bath. As for meals, you can eat seafood sukiyaki (all year round) using local seasonal ingredients.うまき's answer (Posted on:2020/9/25)

Single occupancy is possible. It is within budget.
- This place is available for single occupancy. It's also within budget. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and spacious, with a view of the garden. It's a little independent guest cottages from the city center, but it's just the right distance for a stroll and I was able to spend a quiet time there.ササラ's answer (Posted on:2020/9/24)

Have the Inn's "Kashikiri" (Private) Onsen All to Yourself
- If a quiet inn is what you're looking for, how about 'Koyado En'?
It's a "Koyado," meaning a small inn with only a few guest rooms, so the atmosphere inside is very calm and peaceful.
Kinosaki Onsen is famous for its "Sotoyu Meguri" (hopping between the public baths), but if you're not a fan of crowds, I highly recommend this inn's private kashikiri (reservable) onsen, located on the top floor.
You can use it whenever it's available, letting you enjoy the hot spring peacefully all by yourself. It's truly a "hideaway" experience.
You'll often find that the breakfast-included plan fits within your budget, so it's definitely worth checking.MasaK (Late 40s Male)'s answer (Posted on:2025/10/27)

It is an inn that is easy to stay at even if you are alone.
- Located a 3-minute walk from Kinosaki Station, this inn is also suitable for solo travelers. The rooms are Japanese-modern with a relaxing atmosphere. The specialty is Tajima beef cuisine, and the cafe on the first floor is also recommended. The hot spring has two private baths. It also comes with a pass for touring soto-yu (public bathhouses), making it convenient and fun for solo travelers, so please consider it as a candidate.コリドラス's answer (Posted on:2021/5/23)

A Quiet Inn in a "Premium Seat" on the Onsen Town Street
- If you're a man traveling solo and looking for a true "adult hideaway," "Kobayashiya" is a perfect fit.
This ryokan is located right in the heart of Kinosaki Onsen's famous willow-lined street. It's right next to the famous 'Ichi no Yu' public bathhouse, making it a prime location for strolling through the onsen town.
The building itself is a Nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property and full of charm, but the interior has been renovated and has a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Since it has only a few guest rooms, it doesn't have the hustle and bustle you find at a large hotel.
I highly recommend it, both for its location and its atmosphere.KenFuku (Early 40s Male)'s answer (Posted on:2025/10/27)
