  • Sendai Akiu Onsen Sakan
  • Hot spring inns within an hour's drive from Sendai

After sightseeing in Sendai, I would like to go to a hot spring by rental car or taxi, so please tell me a hot spring inn that is about an hour away from Sendai. Would Akiu Onsen or Naruko Onsen be possible? Of course, other hot spring areas are fine too.

Sendai Akiu Onsen Sakan

  • How about Sakan, where the G7 summit was held?

  • Sakan-san is a 30-minute drive from Sendai. I took the inn's shuttle bus that leaves from Sendai Station. Once inside the inn, it's like another world. The building has a sense of history and a luxurious feel. There are many types of baths in the inn, so you won't get bored. I think women will especially love the rose bath. For meals, I tried both meat and seafood. I think you can enjoy the best of the local produce.

Sakunami Onsen Yuzukushi Salon Ichinobo

Aoba-ku Sakunami Nagahara 3

  • The open-air bath and meals are recommended.

  • If you are coming from Sendai, it takes about 30 minutes on the Senzan Line, so it is a hot spring that can be reached in less than an hour by car. There are also single rooms, so you can stay casually. It is a bit of a walk to the open-air bath in the valley, but you can enjoy the open-air bath in the mountains. The food is also delicious, so it is a recommended inn.

Ooedo-Onsen-Monogatari Premium: Sendai Sakunami

  • A quaint hot spring inn located about 30 minutes from the city

  • I recommend Wakamatsu Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Sakunami Onsen. The open-air bath next to the flowing river is very charming. To get to the rock bath, you go down a staircase corridor, which gives you a sense of the olden days. The food is served buffet style, and everything is delicious, so it's impossible to finish it all.
