Onsen inn within 1 hr drive from Sendai? (Akiu/Naruko?)
Headed to Sendai. After sightseeing, I want to hit an Onsen via rental car/taxi. Needs to be under a 1-hour drive. Is Akiu best? Is Naruko reachable? Open to any onsen area close by.

- Sakan-san is a 30-minute drive from Sendai. I took the inn's shuttle bus that leaves from Sendai Station. Once inside the inn, it's like another world. The building has a sense of history and a luxurious feel. There are many types of baths in the inn, so you won't get bored. I think women will especially love the rose bath. For meals, I tried both meat and seafood. I think you can enjoy the best of the local produce.herry's answer (Posted on:2018/11/30)

The open-air bath and meals are recommended.
- If you are coming from Sendai, it takes about 30 minutes on the Senzan Line, so it is a hot spring that can be reached in less than an hour by car. There are also single rooms, so you can stay casually. It is a bit of a walk to the open-air bath in the valley, but you can enjoy the open-air bath in the mountains. The food is also delicious, so it is a recommended inn.散歩道's answer (Posted on:2018/11/ 3)

A quaint hot spring inn located about 30 minutes from the city
- I recommend Wakamatsu Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Sakunami Onsen. The open-air bath next to the flowing river is very charming. To get to the rock bath, you go down a staircase corridor, which gives you a sense of the olden days. The food is served buffet style, and everything is delicious, so it's impossible to finish it all.TS's answer (Posted on:2020/9/ 6)
