A hotel recommended for couples, just over an hour from Tokyo

Question

I'm planning to go on a trip with my girlfriend this summer. It's Obon, so we're thinking of going by train to avoid traffic jams. Can you recommend a hotel that's about an hour or two away from Tokyo? I'd prefer a hotel with a hot spring or close to a hot spring resort. Our budget is less than 30,000 yen per person.

The Kinugawa Onsen Hotel is great. I think it's one of the best hot springs in the Kanto region, and the spring quality is excellent. Kinugawa, surrounded by nature, will help you relieve your daily fatigue. You can get there from Tokyo by train without having to transfer, and you don't need to rent a car there.

There are surprisingly many fun things to do in Narita, such as visiting Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, watching planes at Narita Airport, and visiting the Museum of Aeronautical Sciences. I also recommend the eel restaurant. Although the View Hotel is a hotel, it has a hot spring facility, so you can relax there.

There is a bar, a pool, a mini golf course, a bowling alley, a hot stone sauna, and of course a hot spring. You can stay here and have a fulfilling time without any inconvenience. If it's within your budget, you can relax in a room with an open-air bath. There is also a hot spring facility called "Yunosato" next door, which you can use. There are private baths and seven types of open-air baths.

Chichibu is close to Tokyo, but you can enjoy the great outdoors and feel like you're on a trip. It's convenient because they can pick you up from Wadokurodani Station on the Chichibu Railway. I stayed in a Japanese-style room with an open-air bath in the main building, a twin-bed room. The open-air bath in the room is shaped like a tub, so you can relax while looking at the trees. The food is also delicious, so it's a great place to relax.
