My husband and I are traveling together. We don't have a car, so please tell me a hotel in Arashiyama, Kyoto that is accessible by public transportation and convenient for sightseeing.

We recommend this inn, located about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Arashiyama Station and about a 15-minute walk from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station. It is a long-established inn that represents Arashiyama, located at the south end of Togetsukyo Bridge. The large hot spring bath with its classy atmosphere is nice, but you can also enjoy a bath in a room with an open-air bath while looking at Arashiyama, which changes color with the seasons. You can relax and enjoy a gorgeous Kyoto kaiseki meal at Cure Kushizu. The hot tofu breakfast is also delicious.

There are many different trains and buses in and around Arashiyama. So, unless independent guest cottages from the area, you can get there by public transportation alone. The hotel I recommend is "Kyoto Arashiyama Goseiyu no Yado Ranzan." It is famous for its delicious meals.
