  • Ryokan Fish Market
  • Please tell me about a place in Kansai where I can enjoy fireflies around the accommodation with my children in the summer for less than 15,000 yen One person per night.

I want to see fireflies with family of three, including my 8-year-old child. We live in Osaka, so we're looking for somewhere in the Kansai area. Can you recommend a place to stay that's close to a place where we can enjoy fireflies? If possible, we want to avoid crowds and play freely in Nature.

Ryokan Fish Market

128-1 Fushio-cho, Ikeda-shi

  • Easy access from Osaka city, just 30 minutes by train

  • You can see fireflies in the river that flows in front of the inn. The inn staff told us the best time to see them. The inn is located in the lush green area of Hokusetsu, Osaka, and you can enjoy the beauty of nature from the open-air bath. We stayed in a normal Japanese-style room, but we were able to enjoy the beautiful nature from the window and had a very comfortable stay. There was a game corner and a souvenir corner inside the inn.

Yumekaiyu Awajishima - Sumoto Onsen

1-1-50 Yamate, Sumoto-shi

  • A lodging where you can enjoy fireflies and the Awaji Sea

  • There is a course where you can enjoy fireflies, so you can easily enjoy them. Children can also play to their heart's content in the sea of Awaji Island all day long, and adults can also enjoy delicious food and hospitality. It is also close to Osaka, so it is a great place for sightseeing in Awaji Island.

Minakami Onsen Hotel Tatsumikan

2052, Kamimoku, Minakami-cho, Tone-gun

  • Located in a Nature setting along the Tone River

  • Although it is quite far from Osaka, how about visiting Minakami hot spring in Gunma, which is famous for its hot hot spring? After dinner at the inn, you will be taken to a spot where you can watch fireflies by the inn's minibus at around 8pm, which is convenient. You can enjoy various types of hot spring, such as hot spring open-air bath garden bath, an indoor cypress bath, and an apple bath with many apples floating in it (only for women). The "Haniwa bath" in particular is very unique, with a large tile mural that is impressive and gives off a retro Showa-era atmosphere. Meals are mainly charcoal-grilled dishes, which I think children will also enjoy.

Choraku Ryokan

1654-1 Arima-cho,Kita-ku

  • Enjoy delicious food and fireflies

  • Basically, meals are served in the room, so it's safe even if you have children. The food is very delicious, and they grill dried fish for breakfast. This is the only hotel in Arima Onsen where you can bathe in both Kinsen and Ginsen. The open-air bath in independent guest cottages building is also great. At night, they will take you by bus to a nearby river to watch the fireflies.

MinshukuTakizawa

261 Okuhidaonsengo Nakao, Takayama-shi

  • A secluded old-style inn where you can enjoy fireflies around the inn

  • Located in front of the Oku-Hida Toy Museum in Nakao Onsen, Oku-Hida Onsen Village, "Furuan Minshuku Takizawa" is a hideaway inn with an old-style house. In the summer, you can enjoy fireflies around the inn. In addition, the two indoor baths and the two open-air baths are all family baths. Another recommended point is that you can enjoy the hot springs with just your family without worrying about other guests. In addition, there are plenty of spots for children to enjoy nearby, such as the Oku-Hida Toy Museum, the sacred places Nakao Hakusan Shrine, and the Gassho no Mori Nakao Campsite.

Blue Ridge Hotel

55, Hidakacho Kurisuno

  • A highland inn where you can enjoy firefly watching and barbecues

  • There is a free shuttle bus from the inn to the firefly viewing spot. You can enjoy Buffet and barbecue plans that make use of local ingredients. I was able to enjoy a variety of dishes, including Hyogo Prefecture's famous Tajima beef and seafood bowls from the Sea of Japan. This inn is soothing, with an open-air bath where you can feel the pleasant breeze of the plateau.

Sugatani Onsen

36 Sugatani-cho, Nagahama-shi

  • There is a high chance of seeing fireflies at this secret hot spring.

  • Sugatani Onsen is a hidden place where you have a high chance of seeing fireflies. You can see Genji fireflies. There is a quaint open-air bath, and the hot spring is effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, stiff shoulders, poor circulation, gastrointestinal disorders, and fatigue recovery. The meals are made with local ingredients and were delicious.
