Any hotel recommendations near Izumo Taisha Shrine for a solo female traveler?
I'm planning my first solo trip to Japan and will be visiting the Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine in Shimane Prefecture. I'm looking for a clean and comfortable hotel within Izumo City that's great for a solo female traveler. My budget is under 15,000 JPY per night. I would be grateful for any recommendations!

- You'll feel at ease knowing the hotel is just a 30-second walk from Izumoshi Station, so there's no chance of getting lost, even on a first-time solo trip. The bus stop for Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine is right in front, making it the perfect base for sightseeing. The rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable. I especially loved the spacious and spotless bathroom; it was so relaxing. Another huge plus for female travelers is the amenity bar in the lobby, stocked with things like makeup remover and skin toner. It's a really nice touch!みたらし's answer (Posted on:2025/10/ 3)

This is a safe hotel even for women traveling alone.
- How about this hotel in front of Izumo Station? I think it's the cleanest hotel around the station. It's run by the Ichibata Electric Railway Group, and gives the impression of being a slightly better hotel in the countryside. It may not be as good as a high-class hotel in the city, but it is clean enough. It had a safe atmosphere even for women traveling alone. You can check in right outside the ticket gate (there seems to be a direct exit), so you can check in without getting wet even in bad weather. I think a single room was around 8,000 to 10,000 yen. I think it will be within your budget even during the Kamiarizuki (the month when gods from all over Japan gather in Izumo) from October to November.ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 3)

It is a clean and reasonably sized hotel, so even women traveling alone are welcome. This city hotel is adjacent to Izumo Station.
- The famous Ichibata Group in the Izumo region has a department store and hotel in the same building, and it is conveniently located for transfers on the Ichibata Electric Railway and Ichibata Bus. We recommend dining at the restaurant and enjoying the view from the upper floors. If you request a room on the upper floors facing Izumo Taisha Shrine, you can enjoy a wonderful evening view that is typical of the land of clouds, and a refreshing sky. Access to Izumo Taisha Shrine is convenient, as you can use the nearby Izumoshi Station.ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 3)

Packed with Great Services for Women
- I highly recommend the Super Hotel, especially for solo female travelers. Upon check-in, you get to choose five complimentary amenities, including skincare items, and you can even pick a pillow that's just right for you. Another fantastic perk is the free breakfast buffet, where you can enjoy an organic salad bar and shijimi-jiru (miso soup with local shijimi clams), a Shimane specialty. They also provide a discount voucher for "Lamp no Yu," a nearby day-trip onsen (hot spring), so you can soak in a spacious bath and relieve your travel fatigue.ナキウサギ's answer (Posted on:2025/10/ 3)

Unbeatable Location and Peace of Mind
- It's located right in front of the south exit of Izumoshi Station, so it's super easy to find, even for first-time visitors. Even if you arrive late at night, the hotel is just steps from the station, which gives you great peace of mind, especially for solo female travelers. Plus, the bus stop and train station for getting to Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine are close by, making it a breeze to get your sightseeing started. The rooms are on the compact side, but as you'd expect from a major hotel chain, they are spotlessly clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay.ぽこぽん's answer (Posted on:2025/10/ 3)

A clean and beautiful business hotel in front of JR Izumo Station
- This is a clean and beautiful business hotel in front of JR Izumo Station. There may be more luxurious and expensive hotels and Ryokan (Japanese inn) depending on your budget, but if you are a woman traveling alone and are concerned about safety and security, I would recommend this relatively new and clean hotel with easy access to the JR station. Since it is in front of the station, you should be able to find dinner in the surrounding area. Since it is close to the station, you can easily get from the Izumo Electric Railway to Taisha-mae, and it is convenient to stay here before or after visiting the shrine.masan68's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 3)

- This hotel's location is unbeatable—it's right in front of you as you step out of the North Exit of JR Izumoshi Station. The rates are very reasonable, making it a perfect choice for travelers looking to save on accommodation costs. Excellent Location, Right Across from the Station
- You can't go wrong with Toyoko Inn. It's a major nationwide hotel chain, so you know you can count on a reliable stay. The hotel is located directly in front of the North Exit of JR Izumoshi Station, making it a stress-free choice, especially if it's your first time in Izumo. A long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) near Izumo Taisha Shrine

It is a 4-minute walk from Izumo Taisha Station, and is conveniently located very close to Izumo Taisha Shrine.
