This is my first solo trip to Japan and I'm going to Izumo Taisha Shrine in Shimane Prefecture. I'd like to know about a clean hotel in Izumo City that's recommended for women. My budget is 15,000 yen per person per night. Can you recommend a hotel?

How about this hotel in front of Izumo Station? I think it's the cleanest hotel around the station. It's run by the Ichibata Electric Railway Group, and gives the impression of being a slightly better hotel in the countryside. It may not be as good as a high-class hotel in the city, but it is clean enough. It had a safe atmosphere even for women traveling alone. You can check in right outside the ticket gate (there seems to be a direct exit), so you can check in without getting wet even in bad weather. I think a single room was around 8,000 to 10,000 yen. I think it will be within your budget even during the Kamiarizuki (the month when gods from all over Japan gather in Izumo) from October to November.
