  • Twin Leaves Hotel Izumo
  • Any hotel recommendations near Izumo Taisha Shrine for a solo female traveler?

I'm planning my first solo trip to Japan and will be visiting the Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine in Shimane Prefecture. I'm looking for a clean and comfortable hotel within Izumo City that's great for a solo female traveler. My budget is under 15,000 JPY per night. I would be grateful for any recommendations!

Twin Leaves Hotel Izumo

Ekikitamachi 4-1

  • A Super Convenient and Clean Hotel Connected to the Station

  • You'll feel at ease knowing the hotel is just a 30-second walk from Izumoshi Station, so there's no chance of getting lost, even on a first-time solo trip. The bus stop for Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine is right in front, making it the perfect base for sightseeing. The rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable. I especially loved the spacious and spotless bathroom; it was so relaxing. Another huge plus for female travelers is the amenity bar in the lobby, stocked with things like makeup remover and skin toner. It's a really nice touch!

Super Hotel Izumo-Ekimae

1-3-3 Ekiminami-machi, Izumo-shi

  • Packed with Great Services for Women

  • I highly recommend the Super Hotel, especially for solo female travelers. Upon check-in, you get to choose five complimentary amenities, including skincare items, and you can even pick a pillow that's just right for you. Another fantastic perk is the free breakfast buffet, where you can enjoy an organic salad bar and shijimi-jiru (miso soup with local shijimi clams), a Shimane specialty. They also provide a discount voucher for "Lamp no Yu," a nearby day-trip onsen (hot spring), so you can soak in a spacious bath and relieve your travel fatigue.

Toyoko Inn Izumo-shi Ekimae

971-13, Imaichi-cho Izumo-shi

  • Reliably Clean and Great Value for Your Money

  • This hotel's location is unbeatable—it's right in front of you as you step out of the North Exit of JR Izumoshi Station. The rates are very reasonable, making it a perfect choice for travelers looking to save on accommodation costs. And even though it's affordable, it's part of a famous national hotel chain, so you can count on it being spotlessly clean. It’s also a lovely touch that the front desk gives female guests a complimentary skincare set with items like toner and makeup remover.

Hotel Ichibata

Chidoricho 30

  • A hotel where you can see Lake Shinji from both the rooms and the large public bath

  • Although it is not in Izumo city, I would like to recommend this hotel. married couple and I stayed there last year, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It takes about 70 minutes to get to Izumo Taisha Shrine by Ichibata Railway from the station below the hotel, but the view of Lake Shinji is beautiful from both the room and the large public bath, so you will be satisfied.

Takenoya Ryokan

857 Kizuki-minami, Taisha-cho, Izumo-shi

  • A long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) located very close to Izumo Taisha Shrine.

  • Located in the temple town of Izumo Taisha, this traditional Japanese building exudes a sense of history. You can enjoy the Japanese atmosphere as you gaze out at the courtyard from the walkway. You can also relax in the large bath while overlooking the bamboo forest. You can also enjoy seasonal seafood from the Sea of Japan.

Izumo Royal Hotel

Watarihashicho 831

  • A hotel recommended for sightseeing in Izumo near Izumoshi Station

  • The hotel is a 5-minute bus ride from JR Izumo Station. It is clean and the staff are very friendly. It is recommended as a base for sightseeing at Izumo Taisha Shrine and the surrounding area. The beds are comfortable and the food is very delicious. Breakfast is served in a pie-style style, with both Japanese and Western dishes made with fresh local ingredients. Dinner is available with advance reservations, but there are also restaurants nearby, so it is also nice to eat outside.
