Any hotel recommendations near Izumo Taisha Shrine for a solo female traveler?
I'm planning my first solo trip to Japan and will be visiting the Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine in Shimane Prefecture. I'm looking for a clean and comfortable hotel within Izumo City that's great for a solo female traveler. My budget is under 15,000 JPY per night. I would be grateful for any recommendations!

- I highly recommend the Super Hotel, especially for solo female travelers. Upon check-in, you get to choose five complimentary amenities, including skincare items, and you can even pick a pillow that's just right for you. Another fantastic perk is the free breakfast buffet, where you can enjoy an organic salad bar and shijimi-jiru (miso soup with local shijimi clams), a Shimane specialty. They also provide a discount voucher for "Lamp no Yu," a nearby day-trip onsen (hot spring), so you can soak in a spacious bath and relieve your travel fatigue.ナキウサギ's answer (Posted on:2025/10/ 3)

Unbeatable Location and Peace of Mind
- It's located right in front of the south exit of Izumoshi Station, so it's super easy to find, even for first-time visitors. Even if you arrive late at night, the hotel is just steps from the station, which gives you great peace of mind, especially for solo female travelers. Plus, the bus stop and train station for getting to Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine are close by, making it a breeze to get your sightseeing started. The rooms are on the compact side, but as you'd expect from a major hotel chain, they are spotlessly clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay.ぽこぽん's answer (Posted on:2025/10/ 3)

A clean and affordable hotel located very close to Izumo Station
- I recommend the Super Hotel Izumo Ekimae. It's close to the station, so you can stay there with peace of mind. It's also easy to get to Izumo Taisha Shrine. There's also a hot spring facility nearby (you can enter at a discount), and the Japanese and Western breakfast Buffet is delicious. It's a relatively cheap, clean, and easy-to-use hotel.エイム's answer (Posted on:2016/3/26)

The hotel also has a ladies room.
- Located in front of Izumo Station, it's a safe location even late at night. There is a ladies' room, so it's even safer. It has wooden floors and a modern interior. It's close to downtown and convenience stores. Breakfast is free and includes Buffet. Amenities were provided and the staff were very friendly.ぽよよん's answer (Posted on:2015/11/17)

A clean and beautiful business hotel in front of JR Izumo Station
- This is a clean and beautiful business hotel in front of JR Izumo Station. There may be more luxurious and expensive hotels and Ryokan (Japanese inn) depending on your budget, but if you are a woman traveling alone and are concerned about safety and security, I would recommend this relatively new and clean hotel with easy access to the JR station. Since it is in front of the station, you should be able to find dinner in the surrounding area. Since it is close to the station, you can easily get from the Izumo Electric Railway to Taisha-mae, and it is convenient to stay here before or after visiting the shrine.masan68's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 3)
