• If you are going by car from Tokyo, how about visiting the nearby Hakone Onsen? The recommended inn is "Hakone Gora Onsen Toki no Yu Setsugekka." All private rooms at this Ryokan (Japanese inn) have their own open-air bath. Of course, there is also a large shared open-air bath.
