What are the best sights and hotels near Itsukushima Shrine in Hiroshima?
I'm planning a 3-day, 2-night trip to Itsukushima Shrine in Hiroshima this autumn. I'm looking for recommendations on "must-see" attractions and hotels that are conveniently located for sightseeing.

- For a classic onsen ryokan (hot spring inn) experience near Itsukushima Shrine, I highly recommend Arimoto. While the historic Japanese architecture is stunning, the dining experience is on another level. Here, you can savor authentic kaiseki cuisine, the kind served at a high-end traditional restaurant.
I especially urge you to try the dinner, which features a lavish amount of seafood from the Seto Inland Sea—think sea bream, conger eel, cutlassfish, and oysters, all delivered fresh each morning by local fishermen. It's an experience you shouldn't miss. And of course, be sure to pair your meal with some local Hiroshima sake!コート's answer (Posted on:2024/7/11)

A modern Ryokan (Japanese inn) built in the sukiya style by skilled craftsmen
- Arimoto is the closest hotel to Itsukushima Shrine and is the oldest inn with a history of 400 years. The sukiya-style building, built by craftsmen, is so beautiful that even Japanese people are enchanted. Some rooms have open-air baths, and you can choose between Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats and Western-style rooms with beds. Since it is a high-class Ryokan (Japanese inn), there are also economy-type rooms if you are on a tight budget.中里's answer (Posted on:2024/7/11)

You can eat freshly baked "Momiji Manju"
- How about "Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto"? It is the closest hotel to Itsukushima Shrine. It is convenient for watching the night illumination of Itsukushima Shrine. Also, although it is not a tourist spot, I recommend trying the freshly baked momiji manju on the spot. There are several shops, including "Fujiiya", where you can enjoy freshly baked momiji manju and tea. The freshly baked ones were incredibly delicious!たこべー's answer (Posted on:2017/9/30)

This is Ryokan (Japanese inn) on the island side.
- If you are going to Itsukushima Shrine and will be staying for two nights, why not try staying at Ryokan (Japanese inn) on both the main island and the Itsukushima side? The recommended hotel on the island is Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto. It is the closest hotel to Itsukushima Shrine. Depending on the room, you can see the red torii gate.びびお's answer (Posted on:2017/5/12)

How about this accommodation?
- This is a long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) whose selling point is that it is the closest inn to Itsukushima Shrine. It also has an open-air bath with the scent of cypress. You can see the large torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine from your room, so the view is not bad. This inn also has a commitment to food, with kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )that incorporate plenty of Setouchi produce and local vegetables. The hot spring is an artificial hot spring. Please use this as a reference.ぽっさむ's answer (Posted on:2016/9/17)
