朝食はミニ会席です。カツオと昆布で味付けされたホールトマトにズワイガニや車エビが添えられています。馬肉のにぎり、赤牛の小サイズの丼などがいただけます。料理は全て美味しくて、宿のこだわりを感じます。館内は和モダンな感じで、湯上がり処のソファが襖で区切られています。温泉も畳風呂でとても良かったです。

Plus, with a tram station and the main bus terminal right nearby, it's a perfect base not only for getting around the city, but also for taking day trips to places a little further out.

A huge plus is that everyone can stay together in one large room with bunk beds, which is quite rare for hotels in Japan. The Kumamoto Wasukijikan is very conveniently located. It's only a five-minute walk from the castle. The hotel is decorated with antique Japanese furniture and beautiful shoji screens, making it feel like you're staying in a traditional Japanese mansion.
