I highly recommend Kamenoi Hotel Arima! It's currently closed for renovations but is scheduled to reopen in August 2025. If you're not a fan of public baths, they also have rooms with open-air baths that use the Gold Spring water, so you can enjoy a private soak. While there are many dining options in Arima Onsen town, the hotel's restaurant offers course meals featuring Kobe Beef, a renowned brand of wagyu. You can savor this alongside other delicious mountain and sea delicacies from Hyogo prefecture.

This is a Hakone Gora Onsen inn that allows day use and allows you to enjoy an open-air bath and sauna. The rooms come with an open-air bath, so you can bathe in the bath as much as you like and then rest in your room. For meals, you can choose between kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）made with plenty of seasonal ingredients, or Japanese beef Shabu Shabu（Japanese hotpot）and sushi.

Just a 10-Minute Walk from Arima Onsen Station – Enjoy the "Silver Spring"! Maple Arima is a fantastic choice! While Arima Onsen has a lot of hills, this ryokan is only a 10-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station. It’s a gentle stroll, almost like a leisurely walk through the town (I even managed to walk to a hotel further up the hill!). They also offer a shuttle bus service from Arima Onsen Station, though reservations are required. For a weekday stay, you can snag a room-only plan for around 8,000 to 10,000 yen per person, which is incredibly cheap for Arima Onsen! There are plenty of places to eat nearby, so you can enjoy dinner out and then come back to soak in the "Silver Spring" (Ginsen), a famous Arima Onsen specialty.

This is a large Ryokan (Japanese inn) located at the end of a bridge across the Yumoto shopping street from Hakone Yumoto Station. They run a steakhouse, and if you have lunch there, the bath fee is half price, but I highly recommend the day-use bath plan that includes meals. As you would expect from a large Ryokan (Japanese inn), the baths are spacious! Both the indoor bath and the open-air bath, both made entirely of cypress, are spacious and relaxing. I stayed here with five friends, and we really liked how the room was spacious. Even if we stayed at another hotel, we would want to come just to take a bath with meals included. Of course, you can just drop in without meals!

If you are looking for a good deal on a hotel in Arima Onsen, Diamond Arima Onsen Society is also recommended. Although they do not have a "Kinsen," you can soak in the "Ginsen" in the large public bath or the open-air bath. Compared to luxurious hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn), the accommodation costs are lower, and there are various discounts depending on when you make your reservation. For dinner, they offer a multi-kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）using fresh seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, as well as a variety of Japanese and Western dishes, so guests from all over the world can choose a menu that suits their tastes.

I recommend Arima Onsen Koki. They offer four private reservable baths where you can enjoy Arima's famous "Gold Spring" and "Silver Spring" hot springs. The recommended way to enjoy them is to first soak in the Gold Spring, then move on to the different Shinraku-yaki ceramic baths to enjoy the Silver Spring. This is a premium inn with a limited number of rooms, but if you're looking for a more affordable stay, consider visiting on a weekday and choosing a room-only plan or a smaller room size.

How about Nakanobo Zuien, an inn boasting over 150 years of history and tradition in Arima Onsen? In addition to the large public baths, they also offer rooms with open-air baths and private reservable baths, allowing you to fully enjoy the hot spring water directly from the source. While the prices are on the higher side, you can find relatively reasonable accommodation by looking for special plans available on specific dates, including weekdays. Since it's conceptualized as an "inn for adults," you'll likely find it even quieter and more relaxing on weekdays than on weekends.

At Ginsuisou Choraku, you can enjoy two types of hot springs at the same time, the reddish brown "Kinsen" hot spring, a specialty of Arima Onsen, and the colorless and transparent "Ginsen" hot spring, all at the Ryokan (Japanese inn), without having to go to soto-yu (public bathhouses). The spacious baths, where you can feel the warmth of the wood, are tasteful and relaxing. If you take advantage of the accommodation plan, you can experience Visiting hot springs in the hot springs at an authentic hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) at a reasonable price.

Arima Onsen town can be hilly, which can be challenging if you have a lot of luggage. However, Hotel Merveille Arima is just a 1-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station, making it incredibly convenient. You can drop off your luggage before checking in and explore the town unencumbered. For a weekday stay, even for a solo traveler, you can get a room with a breakfast buffet for around 15,000 yen or more. Considering its proximity to the station and the fact that you can enjoy both the Gold and Silver Springs within the hotel, this offers incredible value for money. If you're traveling with a group, they also have Japanese-Western style rooms that are perfect for group trips. The Japanese-style rooms are also great for families with babies, making it a good choice for family travel.

If you're looking for a hot spring hopping experience, Arima Kirari is an excellent choice. It's relatively close to Arima Onsen Station, about a 10-minute walk, and they can also arrange a shuttle service. The best part is that you can enjoy both the Gold Spring and Silver Spring hot springs right within the hotel! What's more, you get access to "Taikou-no-Yu," the only hot spring theme park in Arima. At Taikou-no-Yu, you can enjoy saunas, steam baths, and bedrock baths. Considering you can stay for around 10,000 yen per person for a breakfast-only plan and enjoy a full hot spring experience, it's a fantastic value!

It's a large hotel with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it perfect for trips with family, friends, or club members. The baths are very spacious and the open-air baths have great views, so it's recommended if you want to enjoy a hot spring to the fullest!

I confidently recommend Hyoe Koyokaku, arguably the most famous hot spring ryokan in Arima Onsen. This historic inn boasts 700 years of tradition, and its on-site hot spring source provides an abundance of Gold Spring water. You can enjoy it in a total of nine baths across three different areas, giving you the feeling of a hot spring tour within the ryokan! While it's a luxury ryokan, you can stay for less than 20,000 yen for a room-only plan on weekdays, which is a great deal. If your budget allows, I highly recommend adding a meal plan. Depending on the plan, you might even have your meal served in your room, which is typically a traditional kaiseki multi-course dinner. The restaurant options include kaiseki with a dessert buffet or a buffet with 50 different dishes, so you can choose according to your budget and preferences.

Dinner is included and you can rest in your room. I think it is cheaper than other luxury hotels for a plan where you can rest in a private room. It is a little independent guest cottages from Hakone Yumoto Station, but it is about 5 minutes by 100 yen bus. Since it is a hotel of the same chain as Hotel Okada, there is also a plan to use the private rooms of "Yunosato Okada" for day trips, so if you want to enjoy the hot spring atmosphere quickly, I recommend that.

This day trip plan includes a lunch buffet, so you can enjoy both the hot springs and meals. The day trip baths are available from 12:00 to 18:00, so enjoy the buffet first. There is a live kitchen, so you can enjoy freshly fried and grilled food. After that, head to the hot springs. Bath towels and face towels are prepared at reception desk. You can relax in the open-air bath while looking at the trees, and the sauna in the indoor bath is also very pleasant.

You can use the private open-air bath "Heaven, Sea, Sky". Of course, you can also use the large bath Hama-no-yu (separate indoor baths, open-air baths, and saunas for men and women). For meals, we recommend the popular "Local Fish Sammai Kamameshi Zen" + B-class gourmet "Ajiro Squid Menchi", seafood rice pot & sashimi & grilled fish & boiled fish & fried food (Ajiro Squid Menchi). Please note that there are set times for the dining area, so be sure to check in advance.

"Aura Tachibana" is a resort Ryokan (Japanese inn) located a 15-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The inn has an indoor bath, an open-air bath, a jet bath, utase-yu（a stream of hot water falling down on your shoulders like a small waterfall）, and a sauna. There is also a private open-air bath with a great view, so you can enjoy the hot springs in private. With the day-trip plan, you can relax in your room, or you can use a room with an open-air hot spring bath. For lunch, you can enjoy a delicious original Japanese meal.
