If you're not a fan of public baths, they also have rooms with open-air baths that use the Gold Spring water, so you can enjoy a private soak. While there are many dining options in Arima Onsen town, the hotel's restaurant offers course meals featuring Kobe Beef, a renowned brand of wagyu. You can savor this alongside other delicious mountain and sea delicacies from Hyogo prefecture.

Just a 10-Minute Walk from Arima Onsen Station – Enjoy the "Silver Spring"! Maple Arima is a fantastic choice! While Arima Onsen has a lot of hills, this ryokan is only a 10-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station. It’s a gentle stroll, almost like a leisurely walk through the town (I even managed to walk to a hotel further up the hill!). They also offer a shuttle bus service from Arima Onsen Station, though reservations are required. For a weekday stay, you can snag a room-only plan for around 8,000 to 10,000 yen per person, which is incredibly cheap for Arima Onsen! There are plenty of places to eat nearby, so you can enjoy dinner out and then come back to soak in the "Silver Spring" (Ginsen), a famous Arima Onsen specialty.

If you're looking for a budget-friendly hotel in Arima onsen(hot spring), Diamond Arima onsen(hot spring) Society is also recommended. While it doesn't have a "Kinsen," you can soak in the "Ginsen" in the large public bath or the spacious open-air bath. Compared to luxurious onsen(hot spring) Ryokan (Japanese inn), accommodation costs are lower, and various discounts are available depending on when you book. For dinner, a kaiseki kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）featuring fresh seafood from the Seto Inland Sea is served, as well as a variety of Japanese and Western dishes, so guests from all over the world can choose from a menu that suits their tastes.

I recommend Arima Onsen Koki. They offer four private reservable baths where you can enjoy Arima's famous "Gold Spring" and "Silver Spring" hot springs. The recommended way to enjoy them is to first soak in the Gold Spring, then move on to the different Shinraku-yaki ceramic baths to enjoy the Silver Spring. This is a premium inn with a limited number of rooms, but if you're looking for a more affordable stay, consider visiting on a weekday and choosing a room-only plan or a smaller room size.

How about Nakanobo Zuien, an inn boasting over 150 years of history and tradition in Arima Onsen? In addition to the large public baths, they also offer rooms with open-air baths and private reservable baths, allowing you to fully enjoy the hot spring water directly from the source. While the prices are on the higher side, you can find relatively reasonable accommodation by looking for special plans available on specific dates, including weekdays. Since it's conceptualized as an "inn for adults," you'll likely find it even quieter and more relaxing on weekdays than on weekends.

At Ginsuisou Choraku, you can enjoy both the reddish-brown "Kinsen" hot spring water that Arima onsen(hot spring) is famous for, and the clear, colorless "Ginsen" onsen(hot spring), all at the Ryokan (Japanese inn), without having to go out to soto-yu (public bathhouses). The spacious baths, where you can feel the warmth of the wood, are also tasteful and relaxing. If you take advantage of the bed-only plan, you can experience Visiting hot springs in onsen(hot spring) at a genuine Ryokan (Japanese inn) at a reasonable price.

Arima Onsen town can be hilly, which can be challenging if you have a lot of luggage. However, Hotel Merveille Arima is just a 1-minute walk from Arima Onsen Station, making it incredibly convenient. You can drop off your luggage before checking in and explore the town unencumbered. For a weekday stay, even for a solo traveler, you can get a room with a breakfast buffet for around 15,000 yen or more. Considering its proximity to the station and the fact that you can enjoy both the Gold and Silver Springs within the hotel, this offers incredible value for money. If you're traveling with a group, they also have Japanese-Western style rooms that are perfect for group trips. The Japanese-style rooms are also great for families with babies, making it a good choice for family travel.

If you're looking for a hot spring hopping experience, Arima Kirari is an excellent choice. It's relatively close to Arima Onsen Station, about a 10-minute walk, and they can also arrange a shuttle service. The best part is that you can enjoy both the Gold Spring and Silver Spring hot springs right within the hotel! What's more, you get access to "Taikou-no-Yu," the only hot spring theme park in Arima. At Taikou-no-Yu, you can enjoy saunas, steam baths, and bedrock baths. Considering you can stay for around 10,000 yen per person for a breakfast-only plan and enjoy a full hot spring experience, it's a fantastic value!
