Kurokawa Onsen Ryokan Ichinoi

This inn is located in nature, a little independent guest cottages from the main street of Kurokawa Onsen. The hot spring is in an open-air bath made of mountain stones from the Kuju mountain range, so you can enjoy the seasonal nature right before your eyes. The food is exquisite, with creative kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）made with plenty of ingredients from Kumamoto. It is a small, quiet Ryokan (Japanese inn), and I was able to fully enjoy the Japanese atmosphere. Both the exterior and interior are Japanese-style, making instagrammable.

This Kurokawa ryokan is the perfect choice for travelers who want both nature and convenience. It's nestled in a location surrounded by nature, yet it's only a 5-minute walk to the center of the onsen town. It's ideal whether you want a leisurely day in a natural setting or want to explore the lively streets. The onsen itself is a wonderful sulfur spring with a soft feel and unique aroma, perfect for a long soak to soothe your body's fatigue.

黒川温泉の中心部から徒歩7分の山間にある、自然に囲まれた立地にある旅館です。夏は新緑、秋は紅葉の景色に癒されます。3階建てでエレベーターがないので若干不便ですが、木と畳の温もりを感じることができる和風な建物です。レトロだけどスタイリッシュさもあってインスタ映えします。4つの内湯の貸切風呂があって、周りを気にせずに皆で楽しく入浴できますよ。源泉かけ流しで湯質も良かったです。食事も季節を感じれる和食の会席料理で見た目も華やかで美味しかったです。

There are plenty of baths, including a rock bath, a large bath where you can feel the warmth of wood, and a private bath. It is really quiet, and you can spend a luxurious time there. The price for a room only stay is relatively reasonable, so it is a good place to stay to refresh yourself.

This inn is conveniently located just a 7-minute walk from the center of Kurokawa Onsen, and you can enjoy the sulfur springs in a quiet environment surrounded by nature. There are hardly any restaurants in the neighborhood after 5pm, but the next town is about 15 to 20 minutes by car. I think this is a thoughtful inn that provides all the necessary information for those staying without meals.
