  • Superb Basashi and the Wonderful, Refined Atmosphere of this Inn

Kurokawaso is an inn I highly recommend, offering a particular sense of tranquility and luxury even among the choices in Kurokawa Onsen. Regarding the basashi (horse sashimi) you are looking for, you can be absolutely assured that the quality you will receive here is excellent. The kaiseki (multi-course) dinner is exceptionally satisfying. It’s not just the basashi; they also meticulously prepare other local Kumamoto ingredients, such as Akaushi beef and regional vegetables. The entire inn is built with a stately, traditional feel, reminiscent of a kominka (old folk house), which gives it a profound and elegant atmosphere. And of course, the spacious rotenburo (open-air bath) is magnificent. For a first visit to Kurokawa Onsen, and if you are planning a somewhat special, upscale family trip, I believe this is the perfect choice.

  • A Tranquil Inn for Savoring Basashi and Private Onsen

I believe Kurokawaso is a wonderful choice for those seeking a truly tranquil setting. It's set back just a bit from the main street of the onsen town, allowing you to relax and listen to the soothing sounds of nature. They also offer private-use baths (kashikiri) for guests, which is a lovely feature. It means your family can enjoy the onsen in complete privacy and comfort. The cuisine is also highly regarded. You can, of course, enjoy the "basashi" (horse sashimi) you were hoping for as part of the elegant kaiseki (multi-course) dinner. They serve very high-quality meat; it truly is delicious.

  • A Spacious Rotenburo and Superb Basashi

Kurokawaso is located in a tranquil spot, set just a short distance away from the main center of the onsen town. Its main boast is the exceptionally spacious rotenburo (open-air bath), which overlooks a massive rock face called "Byobu-iwa" (Folding Screen Rock). That expansive, open view is something the whole family is sure to be impressed by. And to answer your question, yes, you can certainly enjoy basashi (horse sashimi) at dinner. Here is the key advice: You must be sure to select the accommodation plan that specifically includes basashi when you make your reservation. This combination of high-quality basashi, delicious kaiseki (multi-course) cuisine, and a magnificent onsen should make for a truly memorable trip.

  • Savor the ingredients of Kumamoto with Japanese kaiseki cuisine

The Japanese kaiseki cuisine made with a lot of local ingredients. There was a boiled pumpkin, green beans, and taro, as well as Kumamoto beef. The bath was an open-air bath that was integrated with the Japanese garden, and the water was very nice and spacious. There was also a private bath, so married couple could enjoy the bath by themselves.

  • An inn where you can enjoy a leisurely meal in a private room

The Visiting hot springs spring is a chloride spring and sulfate spring, and the water is a milky green color that is rare in Kurokawa. There are three family baths that can be used free of charge in the open-air baths for overnight guests, separate from those for bath-hopping guests. There are also rooms with open-air hot springs and indoor baths, so you can relax. Although it is not a guest room, you can dine in a private room upon request. The food is beautifully presented and the dishes are tastefully presented. Kurokawa Onsen has open-air baths until the end of May, but there are spots nearby.

  • Spend the last day of Visiting hot springs touring at this tranquil inn.

If you are going to visit soto-yu (public bathhouses) at Kurokawa Onsen, it is a good idea to first get a pass from Ryokan (Japanese inn) association before moving on. If you park your car in the parking lot in front of Ryokan (Japanese inn) association, you can walk to the nearby inns.
