  • What Japanese-style hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Dogo Onsen would my foreign friends enjoy?

I have a foreign friend coming to Japan to visit, so I'm thinking of taking him to a hot spring. I want him to have a truly Japanese experience, so if possible, I'd like to stay in a Japanese-style room and stay at a hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) where I can eat delicious Japanese food. Are there any Ryokan (Japanese inn) you can recommend?

Dogo Onsen Dogo Funaya

1-33 Yunomachi, Dogo

  • This is an inn with Japanese-style rooms in Dogo.

  • This is a Japanese-style hot spring inn located in the central area of Dogo Onsen town, and has Japanese-style rooms, so even foreigners can experience Japanese culture. The baths are fully equipped, with an open-air bath and sauna. You can enjoy Ehime-only gourmet food such as sashimi and sea bream rice made with seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, so be sure to check it out.

  • Ryokan (Japanese inn) you can enjoy Japanese-style rooms and Japanese cuisine

  • This hotel has a traditional Japanese-style room, and you can enjoy new Japanese interior and facilities, which is popular with foreigners. The food is a Japanese kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )from the Seto Inland Sea, and you can enjoy fish and meat dishes. There are also luxurious menus such as butter-grilled abalone. The hot spring is a beautiful large bath, and the bath has a heavy feel.

  • Meals are served in a Japanese-style tatami room.

  • There is a plan where you can dine in a tatami room. For dinner, you can enjoy a luxurious Japanese banquet meal made with plenty of ingredients from the Seto Inland Sea, carefully selected by the Japanese chef. For a limited time, there is also a plan where you can enjoy riverside cuisine in the restaurant in the garden. There is also a spacious large public bath, where you can enjoy the hot springs to your heart's content.

  • An inn where you can enjoy Japanese-style rooms and cuisine

  • How about this inn, which offers a plan where you can enjoy Setouchi Kaiseki cuisine made with plenty of seasonal ingredients from Setouchi in a Japanese-style room? You can stretch your legs and relax while looking out at the Japanese garden with a flowing stream, which we think will be enjoyed by foreigners as well.
