  • [Open-air snow viewing] What hot spring inns are recommended for couples in Ginzan Onsen?

I want to go to Ginzan Onsen in Yamagata with my girlfriend during the snowy season. When we get to Yamagata, we'll first take photos of the frost-covered trees in Zao, then go to Ginzan Onsen in the evening. Can you recommend any lodgings that have private open-air baths or open-air baths in the rooms? I'd also like a lodging that looks good instagrammable.

Ginzanso

85 Ginzan Shinhata, Obanazawa-shi

  • The view is also good and I recommend it.

  • Ginzan Onsen has a good old Taisho era romantic feel to it. There is an open-air bath where you can relax and enjoy the seasonal colors of the mountains above the lake, and I recommend it because you can relax in Ginzan Onsen. It is easy to get to, 30 minutes by car from Obanazawa City on National Route 13.

  • There are stylish rooms with semi-open-air baths.

  • There was an open-air bath in the room, and when you opened the large window you could feel the breeze outside. The design and space are stylish, so it seems like a recommended room for couples. As for instagrammable worthy photos, I think it would be great to walk outside and take a picture of the exterior of Kosekiya Annex, which would give you a nostalgic feeling.

  • Enjoy natural hot springs

  • If you are going to Ginzan Onsen in Yamagata, how about staying at Senkyo no Yado Ginzanso? This inn is located in Ginzan Onsen, in the mountains of Yamagata, and you can enjoy natural hot springs in the baths. The meals are made with plenty of local ingredients, making it a recommended inn. It is a long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) with reasonable prices and easy access.

  • There was a recommended open-air bath with a great view.

  • I highly recommend the rooms with open-air baths here. The rooms were spacious and we were able to relax comfortably. The semi-open-air bath on the terrace offered a magnificent view of the natural panorama, so it felt like two people had it all to themselves. I recommend going at night. If you turn off the lights in your room and enter the open-air bath, you can enjoy the fantastic, illuminated view outside. For dinner, we had a kaiseki meal filled with the seasonal flavors of Yamagata.

  • There are rooms with semi-open-air baths.

  • This inn is surrounded by nature, right next to the Ginzan Dam, and has rooms with semi-open-air baths, which you can use exclusively. If you can make a reservation, it's a good idea to try. The views from the rooms and restaurant are also amazing, and perfect instagrammable.
