I'm going on a winter trip with my girlfriend to the Otaru Canal. Can you recommend a nice hotel in Otaru that's perfect for a couple's trip? I'd like to stay at about 30,000 yen per person per night.

Although it's a little independent guest cottages from Otaru, I recommend onsen(hot spring) Onsen. The Asari Classe Hotel has Japanese and Western room perfect for couples, and the open-air baths surrounded by the lush greenery were lovely. They warmed my body up nicely after a stroll around Otaru. The French cuisine, made with local Hokkaido ingredients, was stylish and delicious. onsen(hot spring) Onsen is not particularly well-known, and even few Japanese people know about it. Perfect hotel for sightseeing at Otaru Canal

If you are going to visit the Otaru Canal, this is the closest place and is recommended. The exterior looks like a business hotel, but the room was a beautiful Japanese-style twin room. I stayed on the canal side, so I could see the canal right in front of me from the window.
