Matsushima (April) couple trip. Sightseeing tips & Onsen inn < 20,000yen pp?

• My school trip in elementary school was to Matsushima. I remember visiting Zuiganji Temple and Godaido Hall and taking a sightseeing boat. I recommend this hot spring inn, which is located on a hilltop and has a great view. There are rooms facing the sea and the mountains, so if you want an ocean view, I recommend a room facing the sea. You can also use the large natural hot spring bath for day trips, and there are indoor and outdoor baths. Both meals are Buffet. The dinner Buffet has two courses: Japanese seafood or Japanese, Western and Chinese.

• This is Ryokan (Japanese inn) with Breathtaking view view, built on a slight hill right in front of the sea. No matter how long you look at the view from here, you will never get bored. The rooms were spacious and calming, and the food and baths were both very satisfying. The open-air bath was also incredibly comfortable.

• ​married couple and I stayed here before. What my wife liked most was that when we had breakfast in our room, we received a bento box set that looked like a treasure box. We visited Zuiganji Temple and Godaido and took a sightseeing boat to Matsushima. There are two courses: one that goes around Matsushima Bay and one that goes to Shiogama Port.

• This is a resort run by the Miyagi Prefectural Municipal Employees Mutual Aid Association, but the rooms are quite high-grade and the view of Matsushima from the windows is Breathtaking view. For a reasonable price, I think you can spend your time in a very elegant atmosphere.

• If you're in Matsushima, I recommend starting off with a sightseeing boat ride to see the islands. For lodging, I recommend Hotel Sokan, located near JR Matsushima Station. It's set on spacious grounds, so you can stay while looking out over Matsushima. Meals are mostly Buffet style, and are hearty and delicious. The hot springs are spacious and clean, so you can relax there.
