  • Zao Shikino Hotel
  • I'd like to go see the Okama Crater of Zao during summer vacation, and then stay at Zao Onsen in Yamagata. What are some recommended hotels with outdoor baths?

I saw the Okama Crater in Zao National Park on the internet and it left a strong impression on me, so I'm going to go there during summer vacation to take photos. After that, I'd like to stay at Zao Onsen in Yamagata, so are there any inns with outdoor baths with Breathtaking view? I'd like an inn with delicious food.

Zao Shikino Hotel

1272 Zao Onsen

  • This is a recommended inn for staying in an open-air bath after visiting the Okama Crater of Zao.

  • This inn is located in a quiet forest and lakeside at the foot of the Zao mountain range. From here, you can walk 108 steps to the inn and enjoy the natural hot spring "independent guest cottages no Yu Hyakuhachiho". You can enjoy the hot spring in the bathhouse, the open-air bath with Breathtaking view of the Zao mountain range and Tatsuyama, and the all-wooden indoor bath. As for meals, you can eat kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )using high-quality ingredients such as the finest Yamagata beef.

  • Relax and enjoy Breathtaking view from the stone open-air bath at Zao Shiki Hotel

  • This inn is a beautiful European-style building. In a separate building of the hotel, there is a stone open-air bath from which you can view the majestic mountain range. You can relax in the milky white water 100% natural hot spring. For dinner, you can enjoy the local flavor of "Yamagata Kaiseki," which is made with local ingredients. You can also taste sashimi delivered directly from the Sea of Japan.

  • A recommended inn with an open-air bath!

  • There is an open-air bath with a Breathtaking view view just a short independent guest cottages from the hotel. Located on a slight hill, it has an open feeling, a great view, and a magnificent mountain range. You can enjoy the hot springs in the open-air bath with milky, high-quality natural hot spring water and the large, bright and open public bath with a large window with a weak alkaline mineral spring. For dinner, you can choose from a ceramic tile-grilled meal with Yamagata beef as the main dish, Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot)meal, or a sukiyaki meal.

  • It is located on a slightly elevated spot, offering a sense of openness and an excellent view.

  • This is the recommended Breathtaking view-air bath in Zao Onsen. The hotel's pride and joy, the open-air bath with a spectacular view, is located a little independent guest cottages from the hotel and you have to walk there. It is located a little higher, so it has an excellent sense of openness and view. The spring quality is so good that I walked there several times to take a bath. I was also pleased with the food and service at dinner, which was more than worth the price.

  • The open-air bath with a panoramic view of the majestic Zao mountain range is extremely refreshing.

  • Zao Shiki no Hotel is located at the foot of the Zao mountain range, where you can enjoy the scenery of each season. The hotel's Breathtaking viewopen-air bath is located 108 steps from the hotel. You can enjoy a luxurious time soaking in the flowing hot water while looking out over Mount Tatsuyama in the Zao mountain range. The food is also made with plenty of seasonal produce, and you can enjoy two types of rice that Yamagata is proud of: "Haenuki" for dinner and "Tsuyahime" for breakfast, so your gourmet boyfriend will surely be very satisfied.
