Family trip to Zao Onsen! Recommended accommodations near the ski resort
I'm planning to go skiing and snowboarding with my family to Zao. I want to stay at Zao Onsen, so are there any recommended accommodations near the slopes that a family of four can stay at? My child is in elementary school.

This hotel is directly connected to Zao Onsen Ski Resort. I could see the slopes from my room. Rooms that can accommodate four people are Japanese-style rooms or special rooms. The large natural hot spring bath has an open-air bath with two tubs of different temperatures, and during the ski season you can enjoy bath to view the snow. Dinner is Japanese food. For the main dish, you can choose how you want to cook Yamagata beef: "Teppanyaki," "Sukiyaki," or "Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot)." Breakfast is Buffet. There are also dishes that are typical of Yamagata, such as ball konnyaku and omizuke. The Yamagata beef curry was delicious. There is free drink service in the morning and evening.ずんたこす's answer (Posted on:2024/6/ 6)

Convenient location near the ski resort
- This inn is located very close to the slopes, so many guests stay there for the skiing purpose. The hot spring is also authentic, and the open-air garden bath is in a wonderful location where you can feel the four seasons. It is lit up at night, so you can enjoy a fantastic view. There is a wide variety of food, including Yamagata's specialty potato stew, wagyu beef Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot), and Yonezawa beef steak. Since it is Yamagata Prefecture, the white rice is sweet and delicious, and Japanese sake is a must. There is a famous sake, so please try it with your meal. It is close to the ski resort, so you can move around efficiently and enjoy both the hot spring and the food.温泉大好き夫婦's answer (Posted on:2023/11/30)

The ski slope is right in front of you.

This is a long-established inn in Zao Onsen. The slopes are right in front of you. The rooms have been renovated in a modern style, and of course, can accommodate up to four people per room. The open-air garden bath is the best.ササラ's answer (Posted on:2023/11/23)

Children welcome ★ A great place for families
- There is a Japanese-style room with 10 tatami mats that can accommodate four people. For dinner, you can have Wagyu beef sukiyaki or Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot). In the morning, you can have Buffet or a set meal. You can bathe in the sulfur springs of Zao Onsen 24 hours a day in the open-air cypress bath or rock bath. The ropeway station is right in front of you, a one-minute walk away. It's also nice that you can use the nearby Takamiya Group baths for free.Shinryuken's answer (Posted on:2023/11/23)

Enjoy skiing and snowboarding with your family
- How about this lodging, which offers free shuttle service from Zao Bus Terminal? With the slopes right in front of you, the whole family can have fun. After playing hard, you can enjoy a bath in a room with a semi-open-air bath. The temperature is just right and there is a lot of water, so even two naughty children can enter without hesitation. The large bath is a hot spring, so it is also spacious and has a lot of water, so you can warm up your body to the core. For dinner, you can enjoy kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )that makes use of ingredients from Yamagata Prefecture + a comparison of Japan's three great beefs. Enjoy sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu(Japanese hotpot)made with Yamagata beef, Yonezawa beef, and Zao beef, which will please even the most naughty children. The next morning after a relaxing sleep in the big bed, you can enjoy a Buffet meal. Eat as much as you like of what you like!心's answer (Posted on:2023/11/23)
