  • A nice Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Yufuin and Beppu Onsen

I'm going to Yufuin and Beppu Onsen in Oita Prefecture with partner. Can you recommend a hotel or Ryokan (Japanese inn) with a nice atmosphere and a relaxing space?

Oyado Sakuratei

2172 Kawakami Miyanowaki

  • Rooms at independent guest cottages with open-air bath

  • My friend and I stayed at this hotel. All rooms are independent guest cottages and each room has an open-air bath with free-flowing spring water, and there is also a private hinoki bath. The rooms were clean and the meals were hearty and very satisfying. The price is inexpensive for what you get, about 14,000 yen per person per night on a weekday in early November when I stayed. The customer service was also courteous. Overall, I was highly satisfied with this inn, and it left a lasting impression on me.

Beppu SUGINOI HOTEL

1 Kankaiji

  • You can see the whole city from the large open-air bath

  • This is an all-inclusive resort hotel that will satisfy everyone from children to the elderly. I stayed in a stylishly designed Western-style room. There are many other types of rooms, including some with semi-open-air baths. The hot spring is a natural hot spring, and the terraced bathtub offers a panoramic view of Beppu city, which is highly recommended.

Hotel Shiragiku

16-36 Kamitanoyu-machi

  • The most recommended accommodation in Beppu

  • If you're looking for a hotel in Beppu, I recommend "Shiragiku." It's about a 5-minute walk from Beppu Station, so it's convenient for going on the "Beppu Hell Tour." In particular, the hot springs are spacious, both indoors and outdoors! There's Houttuynia tea in the changing room, which helps you stay hydrated. I've stayed at a number of Ryokan (Japanese inn) and hotels in Beppu, but I think this is the best in terms of hot springs and customer service.

Yufuin Baien

2106-2 Kawakami, Yufuincho , Yufu, Oita 879-5102 Japan

  • A hotel in Yufuin that boasts a Breathtaking view open-air bath

  • It is about a 5-minute taxi ride from JR Yufuin Station. This is a relaxing inn that boasts a Breathtaking view open-air bath from which you can see Mt. Yufu. The private bath is rare and spacious, so you can relax with partner. The original Japanese banquet is very delicious, and the famous spring water that springs from the premises is also delicious.

Ryokan Yumesaki

5-1 Tsurumiencho

  • A quiet Japanese-style Ryokan (Japanese inn) with a total of five guest rooms.

  • There are five guest rooms, all with different designs. Some rooms have a bath with 100% natural hot spring. It is all-inclusive (some alcoholic drinks are excluded), and soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are available in the lounge. There is an indoor bath and a semi-open-air bath with simple hot spring water, which can be rented for private use. You can choose to eat in your room or at the restaurant. The Bungo beef filet steak and boiled golden-eyed snapper are delicious.

Yufuin Onsen Ryokan Hananomai

2755-2 Kawakami, Yufuincho

  • A pension-like Ryokan (Japanese inn) with hot springs

  • I stayed here before because an acquaintance who lives in Yufuin recommended it and the head chef recommended it. The exterior is cute and looks like a guesthouse, and there are lots of flowers blooming. There is a fireplace in the dining room, and you can relax while looking out over the garden. The food and tableware are lovely, so it is a feast for the eyes. I think it is perfect for a trip with partner.

Yamanohotel Musouen

1243 Yufuinchokawaminami

  • A cozy Ryokan (Japanese inn)

  • We recommend "Yamano Hotel Musouen," which is said to have the best view of all the Yufuinhot springs. Located on a small hill, you can see the town of Yufuin from the open-air bath. kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ), which uses plenty of locally produced ingredients, is healthy Japanese cuisine that is delicate and painstakingly prepared.

Kamenoi Bessou

2633-1 Kawakami, Yufuin-cho, Yufu-shi

  • Located near Lake Kinrin

  • Kamenoi Besso is an inn with all rooms independent guest cottages, located near Lake Kinrin, which is shrouded in morning mist. There is a cafe called Tenjo Sajiki on the premises, where you can relax and read a book. There is also a sales area for Kamenoi brands and local specialties, and some people come just for these.
