  • Yuze Hotel
  • Akita|An affordable hot spring hotel where you can stay alone

I am a student who loves Japanese festivals and folklore. I am going to Akita to meet a real Namahage. So I am looking for a hot spring inn where I can easily stay by myself. I would like a reasonably priced inn with access to hot springs. I would like a place where I can eat a lot Buffet or taste typical Japanese local cuisine.

Yuze Hotel

43 Hachimantai Aza Yuze Yubata, Kazuno-shi

  • Welcome drink, nuts, chocolate

  • This hot spring hotel in Hachimantai is a comfortable place to stay on your own. The welcome drink, nuts, and chocolates in the lounge, although self-service, were delightful. The view from the open-air bath, which makes the most of its location, was wonderful.

Ogaonsen Yuinoyado Bettei Tsubaki

  • The Namahage drum show at night is the best! Shuttle bus included!

  • At this inn, you can enjoy local cuisine using ingredients from the local area of Oga! After dinner, you can take a courtesy bus to the famous "Night Namahage Drum Show," so feel free to enjoy the show!

Tazawako Lake Resort & Onsen

82-117 Azasimokouya, Tazawako Obonai

  • Namahage will be at dinner Buffet

  • The inn is located in a rich natural setting with a view of Lake Tazawa below. There are many plans available for one person to stay at the inn. Hot springs can be enjoyed in the spacious public bath (with sauna) and open-air bath. Both dinner and breakfast are served at Buffet and include a wide variety of local Akita cuisine such as Kiritanpo nabe, Damako nabe, Iburi Gako, and Mikaribayaki. You can also enjoy a powerful Namahage show during dinner. Near the hotel, there is an observation terrace with a wooden deck overlooking Lake Tazawa and Akita Komagatake, offering a wonderful view of nature. If you make a reservation in advance, you can be picked up from Tazawako Station, so there is no need to worry about accessibility.
