  • I want to take a bath in bath to view the snow in Akita! Can you recommend a hot spring inn?

During the snowy winter months, I would like to enjoy an open-air hot spring bath while watching the snow at a hot spring in Akita Prefecture. As long as it's in Akita Prefecture, I don't care. Please tell me about a hot spring inn where I can enjoy delicious food and snowy scenery.

  • Experience Oga Onsen and Namahage

  • I recommend Oga, home to the "Namahage" traditional event in Akita Prefecture. The hotel offers a free shuttle from JR Oga Station, but it requires a reservation in advance and runs a limited number of times. There are also shared taxis available. I stayed in a room facing the ocean. The view of the Sea of Japan stretched out from the window, and was amazing. The food was mainly fish dishes, but there was a performance of hot stone cooking that was fun. The local sake was also delicious. The hot spring had cloudy water and was very pleasant. You can't see the ocean from the open-air bath, but it is surrounded by a Japanese garden and there is also a tub bath.

  • Recommended hotels for a hot spring trip to Akita

  • This hotel is one of the best hotels for tourists in the Oga hot spring resort area of Akita Prefecture. It is located in a great location, with a view of the snowy landscape from the open-air bath. You can enjoy delicious Akita's local cuisine that makes the most of local ingredients.

  • Delicious local cuisine and fresh seafood from nearby waters

  • Oga Onsen is the most famous hot spring in Akita Prefecture. It is a place with deep snow. The hotel we recommend is "Villa Tsubaki. You can enjoy seafood dishes using plenty of fresh seafood from the surrounding seas. The open-air bath is spacious and not too hot, allowing for a relaxing soak. The quality of the hot spring water was different in the indoor and outdoor baths.

  • Besides the hot springs, it was nice to spend time in the lobby lounge.

  • The building is old but renewed and beautiful inside. The lobby lounge had Japanese hearth and we enjoyed a relaxing free coffee while looking out over the sea of Oga and the Shirakami Mountains, a World Natural Heritage site. Music was also playing and we had a blissful time. The room was spacious and relaxing with a view of the Sea of Japan. The hot spring bath did not have a view of the sea, but it had a nice atmosphere with a view of the garden. Near the hotel, there is a facility where you can learn about "Namahage" of Oga, an important intangible folk cultural asset.

  • This is a hotel where you can relax.

  • At Oga Onsen, you can experience the winter Akita specialty "Namahage." My daughter, an elementary school student, loved the scary and unusual experience. It seems like the atmosphere would be even more intense if you experience it in winter. The hotel is a large, clean building. The lounge is spacious with various chairs lined up around Japanese hearth. You can sit in any chair you like and relax with a free drink there. The bath has a very Japanese atmosphere, and I think the hot springs will become even more delicious when snow piles up. The food was also very delicious, with many freshly made Akita specialties to try. Breakfast was also luxurious, like a small dinner.

  • I recommend Oga Onsen in Akita.

  • Right now, the Oga Peninsula in Akita is in full bloom, and I recommend Oga Onsen. It was a spacious and lovely hotel. The lobby lounge had a nice atmosphere. The room faced the Sea of Japan, and the view was beautiful overlooking the ocean. I was also impressed to be able to see the sunrise. The open-air bath was surrounded by a Japanese garden and was very relaxing. Dinner was Japanese cuisine, mainly seafood from the sea near Oga, and there were also local dishes, which were delicious. There was also a tasting of different Akita sakes, so it was fun. Breakfast was a Buffet buffet.
