- This is a quiet Ryokan (Japanese inn) located halfway between Chichibu city and Nagatoro. The Japanese-style building was decorated with many paintings and vases that landlady had collected as a hobby, making it feel like an art museum. We enjoyed the baths at Wadou Onsen, also known as the "medicinal bath" and with a long history as one of the Seven Hot Springs of Chichibu. There are two baths with different designs, one made of rocks and the other made of cypress. Each has a large indoor bath and an open-air bath with a sense of openness, and both have wonderful views of the trees that were very relaxing. We were also satisfied with the substantial Japanese course dinner. There was a wide selection of Chichibu wine, sake, and shochu to enjoy with the food. There were also a small souvenir booth, a cafe terrace, private baths, and many other things to do.siratamago's answer (Posted on:2025/1/ 6)

Enjoy a country-style Japanese breakfast
- This is a quiet inn located about a 15-minute walk from Wadokurodani Station. If you take a taxi from Seibu Chichibu Station, it will cost about 2,000 yen. There are paintings and vases displayed throughout the building, and the Japanese-style space has a warm atmosphere. You can eat dinner in a private dining room or in your room. It was a creative Japanese-style course meal using seasonal ingredients from Chichibu. The taste was exquisite, and there were so many dishes that I couldn't finish it all. There were various meat dishes, fish dishes, wild vegetables, etc. Breakfast was a Japanese set meal based on the concept of a rural Japanese breakfast, and I enjoyed the small amount of various side dishes. I stayed in a Japanese-style room, which was a little on the higher end, but the view was good and I could see the Yokose River from my room. I was able to relax in the spacious Japanese-style room. There was also a room with an open-air bath. There is a private bath and a private bedrock bath, but it costs money. It was a very comfortable inn.sho440's answer (Posted on:2025/1/ 6)

A hotel serving delicious Japanese food along a mountain stream in Chichibu
- Although there are few buses, if you book in advance, a free shuttle bus is available from Seibu Chichibu Station. The building feels old, but it has been renovated and the inside is clean. The hotel is located along a mountain stream, and the view of the river and greenery was great and relaxing. There is also a large communal bath and a Japanese-style open-air bath, from which you can also see the nature of Chichibu. For dinner, we had a delicious Japanese kaiseki kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )with a focus on Japanese and Western cuisine. The dishes were lightly seasoned and there was a wide variety to choose from.夢々's answer (Posted on:2025/1/ 5)
