  • Best Hotels for the Yokote Kamakura Festival: Enjoy Onsen and Kiritanpo Nabe

My three friends and I are planning a trip to see the Kamakura Snow Festival in Yokote, Akita, next February. We're looking for a hotel with a budget of around 20,000 yen per person, per night. Are there any places that serve Akita's famous Kiritanpo Nabe for dinner and also have an onsen (hot spring)?

Kakunodate Onsen Kayokan

  • A hot spring inn in a quiet and relaxing area

  • For something a bit more laid-back, you should check out Kakunodate Onsen Kayoukan. It’s tucked away in a quiet spot in the Kakunodate suburbs, perfect for a relaxing and casual trip with friends. Honestly, there's nothing better than soaking in their onsen while watching the snow fall outside. And of course, dinner is the classic Akita Kiritanpo Nabe. Plus, they have Japanese-style rooms for three that are totally within your budget.

  • Enjoy Kiritanpo hotpot and sightseeing in a samurai residence

  • This hotel is located in Kakunodate, known as the "Little Kyoto of the North," where you can enjoy strolling through the charming streets of the old samurai district. At the hotel, you can savor an authentic Kiritanpo Nabe made with a delicious Hinai chicken broth. Yokote City is only about an hour away by car or train, making this the perfect base to fully experience Akita's winter—Kakunodate by day, and the Yokote Kamakura festival by night. There's also an onsen to soothe your tired body after a day of sightseeing.

  • A hot spring inn with a wide variety of attractive baths

  • After enjoying the snowy scenery at the Yokote Kamakura festival, why not enjoy an "onsen-hopping" experience at an onsen inn? Kakunodate Onsen Kayoukan is famous for its "Bijin-no-Yu" (Beauty Hot Spring), which leaves your skin feeling smooth and polished after your bath. With five different types of baths to enjoy—including an open-air bath, a bubble bath, and a mist sauna—you can try them all and warm yourself to the core. For dinner, you will of course be served a piping-hot Kiritanpo Nabe. This onsen inn is sure to leave you greatly satisfied with both its hot springs and its gourmet food, all within your budget.
